I’m a female who still competes in powerlifting at 69 and hold the American bench press record so I can get with this...the gender bender shit needs to be pushed back and this men in female sports is so cringe!
I’ve never done powerlifting but in my mid 60’s I took up Olympic lifting and absolutely loved it. Unfortunately I blew out my knee and had to give it up. But I wish I had known about it in my 20s. Can someone do it without a coach?

I get it! but wanna say: back in the day (80's), when I was an undergrad studying developmental psychology, gender dysmorphia was considered a 'one in a million' event. it was when a gestational mishap caused a baby's genitalia to be ambiguous in some physical way, then the child was 'labeled' a gender that did not match with their chromosomes (XX female or XY male). sometimes this was not discovered until puberty, when the true gender became obvious. of course, this then was a MAJOR psychological problem for the person. my point is that it DOES happen but it truly is very rare. imho, what we are seeing now, is some kind of exploitation of the awkwardness of puberty (at the very least). and nobody is talking about the fact that we now have the second generation of kids growing up awash in endocrine disrupting chemicals...

The blokes could say we are feminist men standing up for up for women's rights in sports until the officials overseeing women's sports grow a pair and return women's sports back to women.
