This is so funny but also the sad reality of Reddit. I use Reddit for job and hobby related subjects but it’s almost intolerable right now. It’s just filled with vile people spewing hate towards anyone who voted for trump.

Oh I kinda like locking the Reddit viles all up for hate speech against Trump. Serve them right!!

So good! While the liberals express their displeasure of losing by filming a pathetic, disgraceful meltdown and posting it for the whole world to see, conservatives store away food, buy a few chickens, and use humor like this as medicine for the soul! ❤️

My wife's family is in the process selling a piece of property they inherited. One of her cousins wants for the sale to go through as quickly as possible because Trump might raise the taxes when he takes over. I mean, where do they get their info???

The TCJA expires at the end of next year, but would not affect capital gains rates. But to the point, an inherited property, if inherited recently will not have a gain on the sale and therefore there will be no taxes even if they changed the capital gains rate, which they ain’t going to do. Heirs get a step up in basis, and after the expense of the sale may have a loss to deduct instead. Economic illiteracy is rampant in this country.

I’m a former high school teacher. I blame this on the education system. For example , I wanted to take my 9th graders across the street to the grocery store to do some “economic” lessons. I was told “No” by my superintendent, “If students aren’t in class, they’re not learning.” This is unbelievable but the truth.

Yikes. They’ve never heard of a ‘field trip’?

He must have thought field trips were for 1st graders! This was during “no child left behind”. Which, in my opinion was a disaster. The school district I live in is upper class ( I’m not lol) and they actually kept many of their “challenged” students from taking the tests so their status as “successful” school was lifted. As a former teacher, I’m in favor of getting rid of the captured Dept. of Education and letting individual school districts who elect people from their population decide how to educate “their” children.

Awesome letter. Now it needs to be sent to all dems, libs, college proffs and anyone else who hates America, freedom or the constitution.

I could laugh. Or admire good clever writing. But with a sigh, I need to abstain from either. The dismissal of the real fear engendered by countless lies and distortions by ideologues gives me no pleasure. Perhaps we could just get down to the individual task of showing people that there is nothing to fear, not even public humiliation. Ya know, to help heal the divide instead of being poor winners...just saying.

Why is it always US that must "heal the divide?" How about just once THEY do a little introspection and see how their constant "hair on fire, world's gonna come to an end, led by any R (possibly the incarnation of Hitler) of choice" consumes them with all their angst. They do this with almost no help from us. When its.all in their minds... not much we can do about it.

Because we're the only adults in the room.

Literally.

The propaganda and psyops has been precisely targeted to divide us, to cause phobias. as said below: We're the only adults in the room, but that is more targeted at the people pulling the strings, not the hysterical ones who believed the lies. After all, Trump took the popular vote AND the electoral college; we took senate seats, and turned purple to red.

On another substack I wrote a post that received many likes and replies. There were two not so nice replies. One reply was "IDIOT!" Another reply "Your brain has rotted." When I replied that it's okay to politically disagree, but personal attacks are not okay. One response... "Eff you."

I understand what you are suggesting, but the person who responded to me with a middle finger isn't going to react in a positive way to anyone who tries to heal the divide.
