She had a huge amount of help. What she didn’t have was patience or perseverance or an exorcist. With that said, we have to control our demons until they leave. In terms of the medicine - a lot may have been prescribed but then eliminated due to lack of efficacy - but little was taken and none on a regular or prolonged basis. Her execution of the plan established that. Her only path forward now is to live in the truth. The truth is she murdered her children and failed in her attempt to murder herself. She’s alive so she’s not beyond redemption - that’s the grace she’s received and needs to recognize. She needs to come to Jesus. Excuses are an impediment to that.

Part of the reason women tend not to be suspected / judged as easily as men is that we don't commit 90% of the violent crime. People should try to hold their personal experiences aside when looking at an individual case, though, absolutely.

I believe Big Pharma paid influencers to make the discussion hinge on two flame wars: women defending vs. belittling post-partum depression (vicious war, by the way) and women getting away with things men would never get away with, or in short, men vs. women (also vicious).

I was ready to at least lock the woman up for the rest of her life. When I got to the part about the Psychiatric cocktail she was on my opinion flipped in a nano-second. I now want to lock up the Docs who prescribed the drugs. If she had been taking the drugs when she went to the hospital with homicidal ideation then the hospital could be named as negligent for sending her home and the docs could be negligent for not getting the the bottom of the ideation. If she had ideation before drugs and the first drug made it worse then more drugs were certainly problematical. I also do not know if she was prescribed other therapies. This may be another colossal failure of our current psychiatric industry.

The difference is does the individual know right from wrong & 95% of the time they do understand what they are doing is wrong. She had many months of being able to distance or prevent herself from being around her kids if she was a threat to them. Complete bs that someone claims to kill their children out of love for them.

It's meant, yet again, to divide the sexes (me too movement, fake rape cases - like VA Tech, serial murderers targeting women), divide the left/right, and in general take your attention off of much more serious crimes, like Covid and War w/ Iran.
Let’s add a few things. First PP Depression (PPD) occurs about 20% of the births. PP Psychosis (PPP) in about 2 in 1000. Attempted Suicide / Filicide occurs in ~5% of PPP cases. When treated the odds of attempted suicide/filicide is significantly reduced. So the PPP suicide / filicide seems very unlikely out of the gate. This is not the Goebbels case where the parents could reasonably foresee torture and death for their children. The crime involved detailed advanced planning, sustained deception and sustained execution. She was seen earlier that day and did not exhibit psychotic behavior. She took one child to the doctor and sent her husband out to get the kid medicine as well as dinner. So, if we are to believe the defense she just suddenly snapped. But the planning and the deception before and during the event argue against that. The defendant was a labor and delivery nurse, undoubtedly familiar with PPD and PPP, which means that she knows this is survivable and she also knows it makes a good cover story. Of the possible reasons for filicide, revenge on a spouse for some actual or imagined slight seems to fit closer than altruistic filicide. Frankly I’d be inclined to convict. Hard to convince me that she was ‘not guilty by reason of insanity’.
Well the spouse grieved for a whole long four months after his babies were viciously murdered before he hooked up. Maybe this was an evil messed up couple.

Then I considered how I’d respond if my spouse deliberately murdered our children. It would be difficult to not return similar violence in kind. But you have a duty to support your spouse. So, I’m not sure how I would react or what would be the proper reaction to this situation.
I don’t know whether to be happy that he moved on successfully from this tragedy or to consider that maybe the first marriage was in deep trouble. It might just be a way of coping with a horrific experience.
In any case, I don’t see it as an excuse for killing the kids or support for an insanity defense. It doesn’t even support an indictment of the husband.
