You must be 18 to get a driver's license, vote in an election, join the military, buy a firearm, get married, donate blood, work full time, buy and use tobacco, buy alcohol, open a bank account, have a credit card, change your name, get tattoos, file a lawsuit, create your will, purchase a house or vehicle, move out of your parents home, adopt someone, consent to sex.
Yet UNDER 18 you're allowed to make a life changing turn around to be a different gender. Your problem is between your ears NOT what's between your legs. You need a psychiatrist, NOT a surgeon.

I had a friend who changed from female to male and then found herself disappointed in her new identity.
She was not accepted as a male by other men, (they could sense she was not like them) and was no more successful in her sexual encounters with women (She was a lesbian, and thought she would be able to date more women as a "man.").
She had unrealistic fantasies about what surgery could achieve for her. She faked suicide to force the doctors to operate on her (they were unwilling)
She ultimately tried to detransition - difficult when you have given yourself facial hair and a deep voice and cut off your breasts- not to mention the fake penis down below..
A broader look at costs and benefits of physical transition, as opposed to being driven by "medical feelings" is needed in this discussion. Shutting down outside criticism and questions comes with real costs.
Feelings are not a guide to cognition, exactly. "How did it make you feeel?" is a common question. Thinking is more important when it comes to decisions.
Nobody can change from female to male or male to female. It is not possible. Every cell except red blood cells has either XX or XY chromosomes except in extremely rare instances. It's delusional.

Later, after putting myself through medical school, I was an ER Dr. The patients were younger and more were male than in most hospitals, and they made themselves sick with smoking, booze, drugs, violence and bad sex decisions. SO the hospital went broke and closed. The Medicare crowd, many of whom have plenty more money than I will ever have, spend their money on golf, cruises, dining out, vacation homes, and then the younger working taxpayers are forced to pay their medical bills, and believe me, they think it's a smorgasbord; "All you care to get."

I think it's almost a sure thing that some kids who've "only" been medicated (given puberty blockers and/or cross-sex hormones) will also be filing lawsuits. It needs to happen to shut down that avenue of gender insanity as well. The message needs to be: Leave the kids alone. Let them reach adulthood, make their own decisions, and pay for their own gender "medical care" if they ultimately choose to do so.
