Recently I was asked by an esteemed colleague about the pharmacodynamics of Nattokinase which is now widely used at a dose of 2000 FU (100 mg) twice a day for those with long-COVID and or COVID-19 vaccine injury syndromes. Nattokinase is an enzyme contained in the sticky component of natto, a cheese-like food made of soybeans fermented with Bacillus subtilis natto. Natto has a long cultural history, extending back more than 1,000 years in Japan. My colleague asked, at the doses recommended, does the compound do anything measurable in the body? I set out to answer this question with a Japanese study published in 2015.
