When 2020 was stolen, the first few days felt like it was an aberration that merely needed time for the statesmen to pony up and ride to the seat of government and eventually get around to sorting it all out, because it was sortable.
Then, the militarization step kicked in, and it was pretty clear that law enforcement was going to be used to crack heads and round up prisoners. At that point, the only legal recourse was speech, to argue in the public square, exchange information and ideas, and the new regime set about to expunge all of that.
This was a nasty episode that exposed a couple of facts. One, half of the voting population is effectively devoid of sense--it is not common. Two, law enforcement is a machine; its operator merely commands, and the machine grinds out people under foot without hesitation.
The latter point is repairable, the first is not. This should be addressed in the public square. It is the primary tool of a "police state", and it needs to be nipped.

The DOJ is absolutely the worst pick so the short answer is anyone else would be better. The censorship was committed by the Democrats and their censorship-industrial complex and the FBI was steering the entire operation. We have the emails that prove this. All we would get from the DOJ would be some form of opaque plea bargained admission that in certain areas things might have been handled differently. It will be watered down and inert. So there isn’t going to be any true bipartisan cooperation here.
I would pick a group of notables that includes disaffected ex-Democrats like Bobby Kennedy and Naomi Wolf(a journalist and formerly a Democratic White House insider) and maybe a few retirees like Joe Manchin(if he would do it). I might even ask Jeff Bezos given his recent comments about the media. Elon Musk would be ideal given his knowledge of Twitter goings on. And there are plenty of people on the right that would be good candidates and glad to step up.
