I've had to go to the ER twice in my life because of drinking coffee ! Why is it no one talks about the NEGATIVE and dangerous side effects of coffee , its NOT all positive !

ILoveLiberty's avatar

Maybe try organic coffee, since they 'taint' every single thing they touch.

I drink 7 cups daily of DG Roasters, hand picked, all ripe Ethiopian beans, ground, shipped to my home. No acid. Nothing negative. It's just a beautiful coffee. They have other flavors and two sizes, I believe. Located in SW Ohio, I have met the owner.

I apparently have a reaction to even , one cup a day . It lulls me into I'm ok then after a couple of weeks chest pains . The last time I slept for 10 hours ! in the ER !

I didn’t have coffee or use the f word until after my divorce at age 30. Might of had something to do with being Mormon up until that time and having 7 kids to raise on $700 mth.

Organic one cup decaf as I don’t want to be part of the fungicidal etc. Sprays on the locals causing cancer and birth defects.

Then my body said no to any decaf but Swiss Processed. Coffee is acidic and is a diuretic. Hong Kong is said to have one of the longest living people. They drink tea throughout the day, so are hydrated. Two cups of water needed for each cup of coffee I’ve read. No coffee or sugar waiting for cancer surgery, Candida induced and cortisol reinforced I’m sure, upon empty nest.

Low acid as we age. Creamers can have GMO Sugar beets and aspartame or Splenda.

Acid reflux and a Hiatal Hernia can feel like chest pain from related symptoms. I neutralize my normal cup with heated half n half, but the body has limits and will talk to you. You can go from needing to eat a few crackers before a meal as the acid is too high, to give it something to eat on, to getting older and not being able to take the same calcium pill maybe neutralizing ph, because of low digestion. HPylori related ulcers can mess with stomach acidity. A Parasite cleanse helps and relief from indigestion can involve a Stomach soothing Complex with peppermint, ginger, fennel and anise… Or taking a digestive enzyme. Papaya or pineapple with its bromelain helps. Smaller meals. Chew slowly. Low stress. No liquid with meals.

Angina might be a sign of needing a checkup or keeping a food diary for more intentional eating and maybe no cucumbers for instance or reactive foods or glyphosate because you couldn’t find organics, or something else to inflame the digestive organs. A dtr. shared cricket powder (ACHETA) is being added to many fast foods and others, sometimes unlabeled. When a large amount of people have a new problem like Pancreatic “insufficiency” syndrome with painful bloating, etc., it is a sign of contamination of the food supply, water or chemtrail warfare. Humans may not be able to digest some things in general, and processed protein and collagen powders can be too concentrated with too many ingredients. Hard to tell what we’re intolerant of if there are too many ingredients. Plain and clean. Homegrown if possible.

I hope I’ve helped someone.

Hello Pamela Cohen:; me too! But I held out until I was 58. Including the F word. LOLOLOLOLOL; My kids were saying it all the time. I couldn't succumb! LOLOLOLOL Those Mormons turned left a few years back and never returned to saneness; Brigham Young wld be turning over in his grave at what Mormons have become cuz I'm pretty sure he and his people drank coffee. They told us to ignore that part? and thus ends the reign of the judges in my life and my story of Mormon membership 58 years in. Do you live in UTAH?

Pamela Cohen's avatar

No, I don’t live in Utah, but a lot of family does.

What was the pivotal moment for you?

I was trying to entertain myself, but I rarely use the f word. It is crude as we know…but leaving a religion or divorcing or cancer, etc. Is a big deal in life, so golly gee certainly wasn’t going to cut it. You want to be authentic. Eye roll.

Tragic to have a President/Prophet of a Church recommend to members to take those shots.

Btw: I’d be happy to drink hot Postum or Pero if it tasted good, and didn’t have those residue acrylamides from roasting,,,

I feel like this is crosstalk in a 12 step group or something, but my fav. new hot drink in Winter is a London Fog. Make tea of your choice. Chai or Dandelion is ok. While it steeps in a cup of hot water, covered, Heat 1 c. Of milk or half n half. Froth the heated dairy or plant milk. Add a touch of brown or Coconut sugar to each, honey if you can afford it lol…or just experiment…put the frothed milk in the tea, bag or teaball removed. (I like whipped cream on top, in spite of the froth. You have to enjoy something with daily bad news.)

You of course can use coffee for the bottom of the cup if you want. Extravagance is drizzling it with homemade chocolate syrup or pumpkin spice latte syrup…

Bless you Sister…we’re going to need it. More comedy.

Well, that is a completely different and perplexing scenario. I guess maybe coffee isn't for you, tea? Decaffinated?

Mitchell Maxberry's avatar

I'm ok with tea and Coke Cola ,but I don't drink much cola anyway . And I don't drink the decaffeinated ether . . Its just coffee .

Le Chat Noir's avatar

You know coffee can have a lot of fungal contamination, you could actually be reacting to that

Try nice organic green tea, which I drink in the afternoons. I like Japanese tea. Costco has nice Japanese green tea in tea bags, good quality, for a modest price; no bitterness.

Michelle Hamilton's avatar

I have chest pain when drinking coffee and I drink organic low acid no mold etc. I love coffee. I think I have an underlying issue though because it happens when I eat too.

John Day MD's avatar

You might have gastric reflux and esophageal spasm. "Pill burn" goes with that, too.

Watch the YouTube video "Benefits of drinking coffee". https://youtu.be/fOSY3G38_Ko?si=olj9ssPyu4diYBRv

Mitchell Maxberry's avatar

Thank you I watched it . The problem is coffee will kill me before I get any of those benefits . What I find interesting is that Dr's used to promote cigarette smoking which also has some positive effects . For me personally the negative effects of not being able to get a good nights sleep and having to take something to sleep and the stress of that . And the bad chest pains which is not being discussed .There are those of us that have problems from coffee , and yet I don't have the issues with Soda or tea so its a coffee specific issue , and no one is willing to explain it to me , is this case of Dr's knowing the truth and not telling us , just like the Covid shots , yea their safe , duh !

Olle Durks's avatar

Sorry about that. You may have an underlying heart condition, or a specific sensitivity for caffeine. I haven't detected any effects.

Mitchell Maxberry's avatar

I've had a full check up and nothing was noted as an issue .

Maha's avatar

Do you have any problems with other methyl-xanthine containing foods, like chocolate or tea? Do live at high altitude?

Mitchell Maxberry's avatar

I live at sea level and no issues with chocolate . I can drink one but no more than 2 cups of coffee in a week and not have a problem . But I start developing an attitude its alright to have the coffee , at 1 cup a day and bang chest pains , so its accumulative issue .

ILoveLiberty's avatar

You are welcome. Brandon INYB, lol. We have to help each other if we can. It 's a rough world and a rough, tumultuous time.

I drank coffee all my life, a lot of it 20-30 oz/day, sometimes more. Around when I turned 50, I started hurting all over, especially with exertion. Mostly arm and leg muscles, but joints too. Finally I figured out it was coffee. Not caffeine, coffee. Including decaf. I tried a lot of brands, organic, etc. If I start back on it, which i do often, average maybe 8 oz/day, it takes a week or so and the pain is back. When I stop, I'm ok after 3-4 days.

I'm suspicious of claims coffee is so great. People who don't drink coffee aren't abstaining from beverages. A lot of them drink soft drinks instead, like my wife's sister who was unhealthy and died a few years ago, while my coffee-drinking wife looks and feels great even though she's 2 years older. But, she drinks coffee INSTEAD of unhealthy choices. I think coffee is a good idea if you tolerate it, mostly because it's a benign substitute for other things that will ruin you.

Pennacali Girl's avatar

I have a friend who is allergic to coffee, she even can feel symptoms if she walks down the coffee aisle in the food store. Perhaps yours is a specific allergic reaction?

John Day MD's avatar

Definitely do not try Jimson Weed!

;-o

SaHiB's avatar

Why not? 2-3 seeds counter rhinitis, like from a cold or flu.

John Day MD's avatar

It's a very bad trip that lasts 3 days, "loco weed".

SaHiB's avatar

Roughly 12 hours. Benactyzine only lasts an hour or two.

John Day MD's avatar

Typical admissions to the hospital were at least 2 days when we used to see that in the 1980s, fraternity party prank, it was.

Effects can last much longer, and it really is a bad trip, really: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datura_stramonium

I have read about several people who DIED through drinking water. They just drank too much.

Pasheen Stonebrooke's avatar

I drink it all day...with a few espressos thrown in...l love it...I move a fast and constantly, though, with 23 rescue animals to care for. I couldn't do it without coffee, a bit of pure tobacco and my red light mat...and I can fall asleep within a half hour of my last cup.

But, I don't think it's for everyone...just have to tune into your body...

Amazing that I'm doing anything right considering that I'm in constant flight or fight mode with this mass extinction event that we are facing...

Thank you for your tireless work on our behalf, Nicolas...you're a tireless, brilliant and generous man...we know how much you care...

Of course it does with all that running back and forth to the restroom😂

Haha this is so hard to believe, but alright – chugged my bean juice today, and will now balance it out with some green tea for good measure.

John Day MD's avatar

Mornings organic coffee; afternoons nice green tea.

I thought so too since good news like this has been hard to find if late! However, I found not only is this true but it’s also true for tea (but requires more cups of tea to coffee 2:1) so woot woot! Thanks Doc!!!

Geri Bond's avatar

Thanks for making my day! This is best news I've heard in decades! Coffee is my one addiction and I've often worried about how it was affecting my health. Your substack is one of the best!

Lizzy McMAGA's avatar

Great news because I love having my freshly ground, brewed cup of coffee in the morning!

Peter in NH's avatar

How much of the coffee benefit is just from getting up repeatedly to fetch another cup and then getting up again to empty your bladder? Could the same benefits be realized by drinking the same number of cups of the same size of water gradually during the sitting time?

Lisa Yingling's avatar

Lovely! I'm a PICU RN and always joke that I should just have a coffee IV. I can sleep like a baby after drinking coffee for a 12 hr shift 🤣

Gathering Goateggs's avatar

So...if I walk ~ 4 miles a day *and* drink a pot of coffee before noon...I can live forever?!?

Boy oh boy, there is some delusion here. Caffeine is extremely toxic to mammals, here is a starter: https://www.jchristoff.com/blog/does-your-partner-have-coffee-brain

Worse for slugs and snails.

Blueberry, blackberry, raspberry, and strawberry contains anthocyanins, which help protect and repair the lining of blood vessels and improve circulation. You can buy blueberry extract in powder or capsule form.

Have you ever tried MSM, nutritional sulfur? I used to get intense heart burn, but then I tried MSM and haven't had any issues since then. Apparently it also helps with bronchial asthma too, which I have.
