What about a profile of drug users and why they use? What are the profiles of say 8 major types of users? What drives each of them to do drugs? How can we then move toward personal/cultural inner peace and contentment, or less physical pain requiring relief, etc. etc. so drugs have no pull? I know this isn't a simple question, and soul searching will be required for an honest answer, but the focus only on the supply side of the equation isn't working. Let's sort out with why the demand. If we could dampen demand, a lot of other problems in the society would probably move toward resolution. AAF leads to a police mindset of Revenue generation rather than law enforcement. Police become self financing and loose accountability to the public.

So how do we reverse this ?? Well the FIRST step is people need to quit "supporting" the stupid devil police. If you have a "back the blue" bumper sticker on your car or a "back the blue" sign in your yard, take them OFF/DOWN !! Toss the "back the blue" sign in your garbage can. The second step is QUIT thanking the police for their "service". It's the evil POS lowlife scumbag police who enforce all the BS "drug laws" when they could easily REFUSE. But they don't because they are trained order followers just like the F Nazi's were in Germany. So now we have a "war on drugs" and EVERYONE is a suspect. But the last kink in the chain is the police. They're the ones enforcing this BS - AND may I add, they are the ones who will plants drugs on people. So just on that alone, the "war on drugs" is total BS because of the cops planting drugs on people.
Two words for why the cops are so eager to "fight the drug war and engage in fraud and corruption planting drugs: Asset Forfeiture. The asset forfeiture laws were put in place to incentive the cops to take part in the drug war, and it basically amounts to looting the public. They just have to declare your money or property is "involved" in some way with "drugs" and they can seize it for themselves, declaring it automatically "guilty" because apparently your property or money can be guilty of a crime even if you are not. It's nearly impossible to get your property or money back once they loot it.
Asset forfeiture laws need to be eliminated.
And "Reverse stings" where the police pose as the seller rather than the buyer, and take the buyers money. And Administrative Asset Forfeiture (AAF) where the police seize the suspects property without guilt having been established. Waivers,whereby the police waive prosecution in exchange for the suspects property, militarization, No Knock Swat Teams, ubiquitous surveillance. AAF leads to a police mindset of Revenue generation rather than law enforcement. Police become self financing and loose accountability to the public.
So, legalize it all? Let people sell/use whatever they want, and fight amongst themselves about it with no government interference? Take Narcan out of production, because it stymies natural selection? "It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change."

No, some of the liberal-run government's "wars" have been successful: the war on poverty managed to create more poverty; the war on drugs has managed to create more use of drugs, and more drugs flowing into the country.

Why are you preaching to me? I'm with you on all of this...England cannot get the Prozac out of their water because so many people are on it. I know people like you describe and the physicians do not check how those drugs can interact and many die from them. But there are drugs that are needed as people age...Unfortunately , what used to be the greatest country in the world for medicine is no longer the case.

Yea what my official position is that I don't give a rat's tail what drugs people consume. {I mean I do in the sense I don't want to see another human being destroying themselves} BUT I can NOT stop them. That's their choice. When it comes to MYSELF - meaning my personal own mind and body, I am absolutey 99% anti drug - meaning {1} street drugs {2} ciggies {3} alcohol {4} marahoochee {5} PHARMA PRESCRIBED & {6} ALL vaccines. I do average about a dozen Tylenol a year - yes that's 12 Tylenol every 365 days because if I get sick and have a fever, I just got to have SOMETHING to lesson the misery. I got sick twice in 2025 {Feb & June} and both times I gave in tp Tylenol when I could not stand it any longer. But other than that, I'm 100% drug free and vaxx free and alcohol & ciggie free. Hope that clears that up.

Having a son who struggled and lost his battle to addiction we sadly have a front row seat to this so called war on drugs. The documentary about the DEA and the killing of Nicki Camarena should provide final proof if one is willing to listen. Sadly, most are not.

Great comment - you're comment is interesting to me because 2 days ago, I attended a formal dinner to raise money for a very nice sweet woman who is battling cancer and she is DONE with the standard methods and she's ready to try alternative methods and I wish, hope, and pray she becomes 100% healed. If she passes, her husband is going to be so devestated because this guy loves his wife so much it's enough to make a grown man cry. Man oh man, I want so bad for the alternative treatments to work. The couple has 3 children as well and that will be really bad if she doesn't make it. But I'm very positive, the doctor doing the alternative treatment gave a "speech" and was confident the treatments will be a success.
