Just looked up Walter Duranty. A curious item about him leaps weirdly off the page: apparently, he was an associate of Aleister Crowley and "participated with him in magic rituals." Draw your own conclusions. Weird.
I did a lot of research on Duranty - and the so-called Holodomor - just recently, and some modern historians paint a rather different picture of this event and Duranty. It is my personal opinion that the portrayal of both Duranty and Stalin during this terrible time in history has been influenced by our cold-war attitudes which still persist today.
Please don't whitewash Stalin's terror. Perhaps you should read the eyewitnesses such as my German Mennonite parents and grandparents'. They had lived in what is now southeastern Ukraine since 1789. In 1937 alone, 937,000 Ukrainians were removed from their homes by force and taken to Siberia. My paternal Grandfather was one of these. My maternal Grandfather miraculously was able to rescue his younger brother and sister from a Siberian prison camp. A good source for historical information is from German Mennonites who lived through these decades and a small fraction were able to escape by walking across Ukraine and Poland following the retreating German army in 1943. Many were dragged back if they found themselves in the Russian Sector of Berlin.
With no personal letters able to leave the USSR, many relatives in the West (who had been able to escape in the mid 1920s prior to the iron curtain being shut) had no idea of the tyrannical terror under Stalin. My mom's side of he family endured severe hunger beginning in 1930 for many years and my mom's constant memory was of being hungry all the time and standing in line for meagre rations. All farm yields was confiscated ( wheat ) and sold to the west by Stalin. Her father travelled by horse and buggy to Moscow ( they couldn't afford the train fare as all farm yields were expropriated by the collective) to try to gain permission to leave the USSR but he was imprisoned for a time instead. The Holodmor was real. There are good sources in the Kiev museum.

You have armed and trained (through NATO and CIA) ultra-nationalist Nazi groups such as Right Sector and Azov who have committed terrible war crimes against ethnic Russians in Eastern Ukraine. And your illegitimate corrupt, cocaine sniffing president had the chance of peace on very favourable terms in March 2022 when Russia first invaded Ukraine. He instead chose war on the behest of Biden and Boris Johnson. It is estimated by some that more than 1 million Ukrainians have been killed and many maimed. And these same people still want the slaughter to continue. Thank you for sharing that personal and tragic information. It is heartbreaking but history is complex, and that period in history was undoubtedly brutal.

I credit my knowledge to not even go near the mRNA clot shots to Dr. McCullough, as reported in my health newsletter from Dr. Shallenberger. This was right after introduction. My doctor was in tune also, and said no way, unless you want to kill yourself and shorten your life.

Interestingly, it was Muggeridge's experiences in the Soviet Union that began the process of his conversion to Catholicism; he had become so completely disillusioned with Communism and the Western "intellectuals" who spoke favorably of it.
