John, try looking to the bible for your answers, like your good friend Dr. McCullough. If you are looking for truth in a confused and confusing world, God's Word is the source of all truth. And the truth will set you free from all the confusion you are wrestling with. Conflating Trump with Khomeini feels like a real stretch.

Hanna's avatar

Why does "conflating Trump with Khomeini feel like a real stretch"? There is no such thing as a "real stretch" as regards Trump, someone who made the most perplexing statements which prove that it is he who is a "real stretch", for example: "I alone can fix it; I’m the president. I do what I want; My strongest asset is my temperament; I love the poorly educated; I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose any voters; The beauty of me is that I’m very rich; When you’re a star, they let you do it… you can do anything..."

Marten's avatar

Are you talking about "The naked Bible" by Mauro Biglino, because it is a must read !!!!

RoseMartyn's avatar

Dave this sounds good, but what do you say to us Catholics or Orthodox who believe in “replacement” theology ie that Jesus and his sacrifice on the cross was a fulfillment of the Old Testament. IOW no third temple needed. Jesus is the rebuilt temple. And we think Gaza is a genocide, not justified by any scripture.

Dave Campbell's avatar

Got me. Of course Jesus fulfilled every OT scripture that was about him. Some 300 verses if I remember correctly. What does genocide in Gaza have to do with this?

There you go again, John. "[T]he president lost all moral credibility" because he made a tactical decision at one point to oppose Rep. Massie's campaign to release the Epstein files? Umm, the president has since overseen the release of millions of Epstein files. Does that matter to you now? (Oh, let me guess: To you that proves how Trump always chickens out.) And what's with the facile conclusion that the war with Iran was timed as a distraction from the Epstein files? You've got to be kidding! I don't get it. You're so carefully analytical in the areas of your expertise, but when it comes to Trump lately you seem to have contracted a mild but progressing case of TDS. Please analyze potential cures for that virus. It's distracting to those of us who have always valued your Substack posts.

John Leake's avatar

The mental gymnastics a man is capable of performing to preserve a cherished belief never cease to amaze me.

Philip's avatar

Perhaps. I'm sure I have my blind spots. But apparently there are a number of your readers who are on the same gymnastics squad as I. Of course you're free to dismiss our concerns. But in any case, thank you for the opportunity to speak out and be heard!

evergreen's avatar

Mental gymnastics?

Sayeth the reigning vault champion? The leaps you have taken are astounding.

Although, your balance is questionable, your arguments don't always clear the bar, and your floor routine has definitely left half of your subscribers floored.

Your mind has definitely siezed on Trump. Are you capable of granting him any deference from this point forward, or has that possibility been foreclosed? That is, has your mind closed on Trump?

Hanna's avatar

John, congratulations on your last post -a truly courageous discourse given the fact that you are tackling here one of the most complicated issues that mankind face. We live in the times when separation of the chaff from the grain has intensified. There are signs you seek to be among the grain.

Overtheblues's avatar

Insulting someone for putting a very credible and defensible view on the actions of the most powerful person in the world - especially when those actions are in direct contradiction to what he promised his electors - is not a good look for you. John consistently makes valid assessments. The characterisation of his measured truths as TDS is akin to calling people who chose not to take the c19 shots as 'Anti-Vaxxers'. I had hoped that the calibre of readers of John Leake's posts would match his own elevated intellectual standards. Perhaps you need to go back to MSNBC for your 'information'.

Philip's avatar

It's not a "credible and defensible view" or a "valid assessment" to declare that Trump took the risk of starting a war (!) in order to create a distraction from the Epstein files

--in which Trump is vindicated as, if anything, the one who helped close the Epstein criminal enterprise down, and

--in which it is almost universally the political foes of Trump who are being damaged by the revelations in the files.

Overtheblues's avatar

Given that facts that Trump tried to shut down the whole Epstein investigation entirely, that there is a strong chance Epstein's 'suicide' (and even his death) wasn't and that Trump's buddy relationship with Epstein is being revealed with numerous Trump appearances in the files, added to the horrendous revelations that are emerging about the nature of the enterprises of Epstein's 'club' pf participants, it is entirely reasonable to speculate that both Trump and Netanyahu (of whom there are also compromising pictures in the files) needed to distract the public by 'finishing the job' that Netanyahu had dictated to the USA years ago - i.e. the destruction of Iran. When would be a better time to kill two birds with one stone?

Mrs. Itoldya!'s avatar

Ha! Ha! Ha! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Hanna's avatar

Rather than "the most powerful person in the world", Trump is, clearly, a mentally unbalanced individual armed with the most powerful weapons of mass destruction.

Overtheblues's avatar

Yes, but having the control over those weapons and when to deploy them makes him the most powerful person. I agree that he is not mentally fit to have such control. He totally bamboozled his voter base with his oft-repeated ambitions to be the 'Peace President' and really change the world for the better. Turns out he is just a sickening little co-conspirator with his evil buddy Satanyahu - aiming to take over as much of the World as they can manage without a care as to the death-count, and share up the spoils between them.

Mrs. Itoldya!'s avatar

President Trump did not attack a nation of 94 million. He precisely attacked the parts responsible for developing a nuclear weapon in the future, military, middles, and the present government bent on destroying US, Israel, and others who do not share their same religious beliefs. There are many great people of Iran who want to be free of their tyrannical government.

Curious and Concerned's avatar

And it was a wise choice to dispense with diplomacy when an agreement was within reach? And to embrace Israel's clear and present agenda for a Greater Israel? Obama avoided the trap, but now we're in the sand up to our middle. Trump hates to be wrong, and doesn't spend much time in thoughtful reflection that I can see. The new leader of Iran just released a statement that points toward a long, horrible slog of punch and counter-punch. Let's see how that plays out.

Mtone's avatar

Would it be a better choice to wait a few more days until Iran gets a nuclear weapon and tests it out on Israel?

They were repeatedly warned that they would have a very short window to swear off nuclear ambitions or face the real consequences promised by the President.

Jack Bergeron's avatar

When a gun is pointed at your head is that negotiating or coercion?

Overtheblues's avatar

Hang on, Trump only attacked 'specific parts of a country responsible for developing a nuclear weapon IN THE FUTURE'? So, that could cover just about every country in the world - as any country may develop nuclear weapons 'in the future'. And I would also say that Israel does not share the same religious beliefs as USA either, however that doesn't seem to provide a reason to bomb Israel. And lastly, what actual proof is there that the present government (of Iran) is 'bent on destroying US and Israel? It seems to me that the position is actually totally reversed.

David Kukkee's avatar

The recently deceased leader of Iran is on countless video reports that show him promoting "death to America", and "death to Israel", VOWING to wipe us off the map. Add that to the intel concerning the funding of terror groups that brutalize Israel and the West by Iran's deceased leader(s), plus the nearness to the completion of a nuclear bomb, and perhaps you might reconsider your comments. I see that you are uninformed and confused about what is true. Clearly, you lack understanding of the millenias of hatred against the children of Israel (Christians) by those who DO NOT LOVE GOD. The true God of Christianity is not the same god worshipped by Islam, in case you were unaware. The Bible explains this in detail, for those willing to do the work it takes to study and understand. Comparing Christian America with Islam and finding America guilty is foolishness.

Hanna's avatar

Where does the Bible say that "Christians" are "the children of Israel"? By the way, do you know the origin of the denomination "Christians"? Since you are "willing to do the work it takes to study and understand -find out where it comes from. First things first.

Mtone's avatar

It’s an extremely short term time frame to go from almost fissionable materials to nuclear weapons a matter of days or a few weeks at most.

Overtheblues's avatar

Are you a nuclear physicist? And are you aware that Israel has been murdering every Iranian with knowledge in this field for years? Do you have actual comprehension of the complexity of this technology? If it is that easy why hasn't every country in the world got nuclear weapons? And why, when Netanyahu has been blathering about Iran's imminent nuclear weapons program since the eighties, hasn't it ever come to fruition, especially because if HAD, Iran would now be protected from being bombed into the stone age?

Mtone's avatar

Did you know that people who are not nuclear physicists can have knowledge about nuclear physics?

Yes I do understand how hard that is. How much time money and effort goes into doing that.

Did you know you answered your own question about why iran has not yet achieved a nuclear weapon, because Israel has intervened in several different ways, including targeting nuclear scientists and the computer infrastructure in the enrichment program controlling the centrifuges?

Do you know that President Trump offered free nuclear fuel to Iran for giving up its nuclear weapons program?

Do you know how they answered?

If you and everyone else you care about was being threatened by a lawless neighbor with death, would you defend yourselves?

Would the fact that the police would not protect you from such a neighbor and in fact have also harbored a strong sense of dislike about you all, would that harden your resolve to protect yourselves?

What if you were 20 people surrounded by 5,000 people who hate you, would that harden your desire to protect yourselves?

Did you know that china and North Korea were caught secretly sending nuclear scientists and centrifuges to iran for decades. That’s how they earned their nickname as the axis of evil.

Is it true that Iran has hidden their nuclear ambitions deep inside mountains?

Do you know why that is?

Do you know how far fissionable material needs to be enriched to fuel a nuclear reactor?

Do you know how much further it needs to be enriched for nuclear weapons?

Did you know that once fissionable materials reach a certain threshold, far beyond reactor grade, it takes very little time and effort to make it weapons grade?

Did you know that there is only one reason to enrich nuclear fuel past reactor grade material?

Did you know that muslims and their leftist allies have been chanting

“from the river to the sea will be free” for decades?

Can you identify the river, the sea and free from what?

Has iran ever threatened death to the US?

Do you know that iran sits on top of some of the world’s largest oil fields?

Do you know how expensive it is to safely build nuclear power plants?

Can you explain why a country sitting on so much cheap energy would want to build expensive nuclear power stations other than it gives them cover for their nuclear weapons program?

Do you know that the intermediate range missiles that iran possesses are capable of reaching anywhere in the Middle East, Africa and most of Europe?

Do you know that iran is working on the long range version of those missiles that could easily reach America?

Do you know that iran funds at least 3 proxies to attack their neighbors who do not support Iranian interests?

Do you know that Iranian people in country and around the globe are celebrating the removal from this earth of the tyrant’s who have repressed their country for decades?

Did you know that most of America’s founding fathers believed in the judeo christian values featured in the Bible and that showed up in many of the founding documents and laws that shaped our nation. Israel most certainly is a religion that walks hand in hand with christianity.

Islam does not.

I’ve answered your questions, I can go on and I will do so as soon as you answer my questions.

Hanna's avatar

Now that all the questions have been answered we are free to admit, at long last, that president Netanyahu´s 3 decades of warnings that Iran was approaching nuclear capability came to fruition, that is to war, and this in spite of all the judeo-christian values "featured in the Bible". Mtone, allow me to add that although Israel is not a religion, it certainly walks hand in hand with the US.

All evidence free propaganda. All of it. In particular, killing 160+ small children was an unequivocal war crime for which responsibility extends down a long chain from Trump, Hegseth, and military target specialists to everyone supporting this war of aggression, including apparently you. Hegseth canceled a Dept of Defence directive that required a civilian mitigation team to review each target to make sure that they weren’t striking the wrong ones. Hegseth called that “woke” and “ineffective”. In a news conference he said there would be “no stupid rules of engagement”. It’s long past due for Nuremberg 2.0.

John! You write like a Gnostic Poet! You'd love my work. So many things to hit on, so let's begin:

1/ The Devil does exist and is as you described: "is merely the mythical personification of the madness and malevolence that may, under certain circumstances, spread like a contagion, causing masses of humans to commit extremely destructive behavior. " -- all cultures and religions speak of this evil and use different names. Christianity just calls it "Satan." I've discussed that here:

https://unorthodoxy.substack.com/p/love-the-ultimate-weapon

https://unorthodoxy.substack.com/p/humanity-vs-the-deadening-part-two

2/ "Our current ruling class is as wicked as it has ever been. The disclosures may provide us with a unique opportunity to usher our ruling class into disgraced retirement." and "Unless our rulers are closely watched and held accountable for the gigantic messes they make, such as the 2008 Financial Crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic, they will continue yielding to the temptation to serve their own interests and those of their elite friends at the expense of everyone else." -- I've discussed the Ruling Class here:

https://unorthodoxy.substack.com/p/the-ruling-class-of-the-united-states

https://unorthodoxy.substack.com/p/understanding-the-ruling-class-of

they are the true evil in society.

3/ "Among the Romans it was a standing maxim to excite a war, whenever a revolt [in the homeland] was apprehended." -- wonderful quote, thank you for this history lesson!

4/ "he characterized the U.S. as an imperialist power whose CIA was responsible for overthrowing the democratically elected Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh in 1953 and installing the autocratic Shah. Khomeini believed the Great Satan was not only a political adversary, but a spiritual enemy, and he characterized America as a "world-devouring" power that seduces, murders, and imposes sanctions on oppressed nations." This is the truth and I've covered that in a couple of articles, but when Americans can wake up to the reality of entities and shadow governments like the CIA and FBI, then we can begin to progress:

https://unorthodoxy.substack.com/p/who-are-the-bad-guys

https://unorthodoxy.substack.com/p/who-are-the-bad-guys-part-two?utm_source=publication-search

I'll stop here, but phenomenal work.

FYI, I had a podcast back in Sep 2023 titled, "Are We Under Satanic Attack." Almost 3 years later, it looks like we are starting to realize it:

Thanks for the great work! Greatly appreciated!

Topic was - Who is the Devil and Where Does He Reside?

Worst case scenario - he's was cast down by God as a fallen Angel from Heaven... He was given to you by God.

Best case scenario - he's the Yin to Yang.

Ask yourself when you look at the world. What do you REALLY want?

Change?

Or

More of the Same?

More of the same has gotten us all of the above and $40 Trillion dollars in debt. So I'm going with the Devil is Debt and he resides in.... More of the same.

So lets try something different.

Best Wishes President Trump.

Joewrite's avatar

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12f.

It seems that if you call yourself a christian, you would understand that the Satan is an actual being. Our spiritual adversaries—fallen angels and demonic powers—are described as highly intelligent, cunning, and operating in the spiritual dimension, far beyond human physical limitations. They manipulate human emotions and systems, but their ultimate target is YHWH's kingdom and people.

Overtheblues's avatar

'Christians' are so annoying when they take on that superior tone of 'knowledge', with the attitude that the Bible is NEVER open to any differing interpretations. Personally I think humanity is better served by humans making honest efforts to question and re-examine every shade of 'consensus'. When it comes to the actions of 'Satan' it is more useful to take a position where we each take on personal responsibility for either being the servants enacting Satan's will, - or to refusing to do so with genuine love for being the agents of goodness and God - rather than externalising that responsibility to some mythical entity.

Joewrite's avatar

I think that's why the statement "for we wrestle" is a reminder that we are to put on all the armor to combat the evil. I don't think that externalizes the responsibility. It's just important to know the source is powerful, dangerous, hidden.

The True Nolan's avatar

The words of the Bible are objectively clear and definitive. In fact, after 2,000 years of scholarship, the billions of Christians in the world have narrowed down its meaning to a mere tens of thousands of denominations, and a few hundred thousand doctrinal interpretations. How much more clear could it possibly be? (End sarcasm.)

Ahem... Speaking seriously now. The Bible contains much wisdom. It contains some historical information as well. I read it myself. But if anyone thinks that he has gleaned the true, undeniable, verifiable, understanding of what it means -- well, that person is suffering from an enormous case of spiritual hubris.

Overtheblues's avatar

Phew, I almost didn't read past the first couple of sentences in your reply - they seemed so ludicrous. Thank goodness it was sarcasm. The unknowable entity that is God, cannot be known just by thinking deeply about it - any mor than 'consciousness' can be explained by describing it. We have a severely limited portal to goodness, which is by following some reasonably straightforward moral admonitions in the Bible (such as the Ten Commandments) - but even then, there's always wriggle room for different interpretations, depending on context. Basically we are alone in the desert except for the low light of our inner compass - which gives us a fair to middling sense of direction.

Joewrite's avatar

According to the Old and New Testaments from Father YHWH through his son and prophets there will be people who understand the message, the timing, and what is required to "make the road straight" for Messiah and the Father. They will be willing to sacrifice themselves to "save the world."

(Beginning sarcasm: I hope that doesn't offend you. Ending sarcasm).

I hope I have the courage to help.

Overtheblues's avatar

'Saving the World' is impossible. It is a concept that is just as fictional as the idea of 'safety'. Existing in the universe means constantly and everywhere being prey to opposing forces. We exist, as Sartre says, on a basis of 'Contingency' - everything is at once an accident and a deliberate creation of God. Go figure.

Joewrite's avatar

So we exist as and accident, really? When does something come from nothing? Or we exist as a deliberate creation by the Creator? What do you think? And how do you know that a group of people in concert with the Creator will not be able to "save the world." Really, no kidding, how do you KNOW?

Overtheblues's avatar

I see your dilemma - but the 'accidents' are, as I see it, downstream from what God created. Because we have free will, the consequence is that most of what humans decide has unforeseen consequences - hence 'accidental' results. The reason we cant save 'the World' is because 'The World' is a construct of our own making - as distinct from the planet. The Planet cant be destroyed by humans, but our World is a fragile entity, especially when we have the technology that enables complete destruction. God cannot interfere with this or else we would no longer have free will.

The devil definitely exists. The book The War Against Humanity by Anonymous Patriot proves it beyond all reasonable doubt. The Bible is very clear about it, starting with the Book of Job.

"One day, when the sons of God [angels] came to present themselves before the Lord, Satan also came among them...And the Lord said to Satan, 'Have you noticed my servant Job, and that there is no one on earth like him, blameless and upright, fearing God and avoiding evil?' (Job 1:6,8). Satan, whose name in ancient Hebrew means "adversary" or "accuser", argues before God that Job only worships and fears the Lord because God has blessed him with wealth, fortune and protection. "And the Lord said to Satan, 'Behold, all that he [Job] has is in your [Satan's] power; only do not lay a hand upon his person.' (Job 1:12). God accepts Satan's challenge in order to justify man, created in God's image, capable of withstanding the assaults, accusations and influence of the Enemy. However, both man and the angels have free will to disobey God, hence the need for tests of faith and obedience. Both Adam and the angels which fell with Satan failed the test. Job, however, passes the test because he remains faithful to God after losing his fortune, his children and eventually his health.

If you believe the Bible is the Word of God, then you must also believe Satan exists because of the numerous references to demons and Satan contained within, including testimony from Christ himself. Part of the reason God assumed human form in Christ was to defeat Satan. Just as Christianity destroyed the Roman Empire (first beast in the Book of Revelation), so will it destroy the second beast in the Book of Revelation (American Deep State with two horns representing the two major political parties that gore the world in perpetuity). This is a spiritual war against the Evil which has controlled our government through the Deep State since John F. Kennedy's assassination. It will be won with the Sword of Truth (Jesus Christ's teachings) and not with the swords of men. Love your neighbor and speak hard truths to them that expose the lies which we have all been blinded by to some extent.

Three conversations with Satan are recorded in the Bible. First, the conversation between God and Satan regarding Job. Second, the dispute between Michael and Satan over Moses body recorded in Jude. Third, the three temptations of Christ. Satan is NOT a "mythical personification."

Christopher Quick's avatar

There is another conversation involving Satan that was overheard by Pope Leo XIII on October 13, 1884, exactly 33 years before the Miracle of the Sun in Fatima. Pope Leo XIII had a vision where he heard two voices, one kind and gentle belonging to Our Lord, the other harsh and guttural belonging to Satan. Satan boasted, "I can destroy your church." The gentle voice of the Lord replied, "You can? Then go ahead and do so." Satan responded, "To do so, I need more time and more power." The Lord asked, "How much time? How much power?" Satan stated, "75-100 years, and a greater power over those who will give themselves over to my service." Our Lord replied, "You have the time, you will have the power. Do with them what you will." Pope Leo XIII, whose face became white after hearing this, later composed the Prayer to St. Michael in the hope of preventing what he heard.

Parts of the Bible are, indeed, "the Word of God". Not all of it. To believe that "God assumed human form" is a kind of shamanism.

I appreciate your honest inquiry, John.

Let's go further:

The decent American people are on the side of the Iranians and against the USISRAEL Empire. Why would Iranians attack them in California? That would be a strategic error. Instead, Iran and their allies are either militarily going after or rhetorically going after the things decent Americans want curtailed - military presence in the Middle East, Zionism, Epstein Mafiosos, degenerate Western culture, AI hubs, data centers, Rothchild Banks and their extensions, Big Oil magnates. This appears to be a war for freedom from the degenerate totalitarianism of Zionist/Western Global Capitalism. The Iranians, Russians, and Chinese want a multi-polar world after nations free themselves from USISRAEL/Rothchild/Epstein mafia control. Most Americans do to.

The Iranians are almost correct.

USISRAEL is the Great Satan.

Im one of those people who kept with my subscription to "Courageous Discourse" when you were asking why so many were leaving, but you're starting to make me question this. If humans rely solely on their own meandering thoughts to interpret the world around us we are doomed. But there is a level of truth in which to align our thoughts that will bring clarity and answers, wisdom and understanding and it's not in our own experiences, thoughts or perceptions. It's the prophets of old in the Old Testament and in the revelation of our Lord and Christ as written in the New Testament. Gods ways and thoughts are not our ways and thoughts. If you seek truth in the right places you will find it.

As C.S. Lewis wrote..when the children asked why Aslan had to die...its in the deep magic...which is the underlying foundation of truth that upholds all life and creation...seek that truth and you will find the true God

Time to start believing in Satan. Until you do, you won’t be able to understand how to resist him. He thrives most when people don’t believe he exists, and thus don’t resist him directly. Rest assured, there are many in power who not only believe, but worship with devotion.

John, an interesting essay and point of view which I believe many Americans with waning faith and patience to allow for any more flexibility in interpreting Trump's actions can agree. Not I.

Please correct me if I am in error but it WAS actually! Trump who allowed the first large tranche of millions of Epstein file pages(redacted to some extent) to be published by the DOJ. Likewise, I understand there are another couple million in the works.

He may have resisted Massie's(and others') calls to release them but I don't recall any hysterics as you seem to allege. Could he had other reasons not to immediately release them? Perhaps with the idea that releasing them at a strategic point in time could better suit HIS plans? So far Trump has not been alleged of misdoings related to Epstein but has championed his demotion twice over 20 years and FIVE(5) persons associated with the Epstein horror show have exonerated him to various extents.

After 47 years of fostering hell on earth across the middle east Iran was MUCH in need of being targeted-- by the entire world. Despite the fact this administration was quite aware of the risk just before a critical election(22 of last 24 administrations have LOST mid-terms!) he persued this; despite the risk to the rates of inflation, price of gas, and political capital he risked it. Makes you think, I hope.

Here are some relevant and cogent reasons that, in my eyes, should assuage a thinking person pondering his heart such as yourself:

-- Radical Islam (the Koran, period, let's be honest) turns all women into slaves, completely subject to men, useful as tools with nearly NO rights, none to even be educated. This Iranian empire has put half its population under this terrible thumb for 47 years and exported this practice far and wide. It is high time it is eliminated, stepped upon, and spit upon for this fact ALONE.

-- OVER 1000 Americans can be documented to have been killed outright over these years, many more horribly disfigured and lost limbs from their IED's. In 1979 these Islamist cowards took about 100 embassy staff captive and kept them for 444 days. These reasons ALONE is reason.

-- The nuclear bomb was soon to be in the hands of the worst terrorist society that ever lived(well, Genghis Khan was worse?). At their first chance they would have used it and at that time, like it or not, the USA would be involved in a World wide war of REAL Armageddon. This ALONE is reason to stomp them out. Why wait till they have any advantage.

-- With Iran's increased technology to project missiles & drones to kill remotely they have assisted both Russian and Hezbollah and Hooties(sp?!) terrorists spreading their hatred and death. While doing so they are telegraphing the ease by which they will project a nuclear holocaust. . . . and you believe Trump's move on them was premature, was simply to divert attention from . . . get this. . . the Epstein files?!

You mention SATAN. What country could possibly moreso emulate SATAN than Iran's Koranic hate?

I don't understand ALL the reasons, John, but I can name some more to cause some pondering, for sure.

RoseMartyn's avatar

The Iranian women I have come in contact with are very well educated and sophisticated no matter their politics. Good at math too. And very feminine at the same time. Sans politics, my impression is Persians as a whole like well educated women. Just an apolitical observation.

Hanna's avatar

You cannot analyse anything on the assumption that "everything we do is right; everything they do is wrong". The Bible is full of quotes such as this one: "Now go and strike Amalek and devote to destruction all that they have. Do not spare them, but kill both man and woman, child and infant, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.” (1 Samuel 15:2–3) Isn´t that hate?

Christopher Quick's avatar

You bring up an interesting point. Saul was commanded by the Lord to kill everything in Amalek, and yet he spared the king Agag as well as the best of the livestock. Because of this disobedience to God, despite killing all of the inhabitants of Amalek, Saul loses God's favor, and is informed by Samuel that the Lord has rejected him as king of Israel. This paves the way for the ascension of King David, and clearly demonstrates the wrath of God. God's ways are mysterious, and often do not align with our modern sensibilities and human understanding. But we have no idea how evil the inhabitants of Amalek might have been, possibly as twisted as the inhabitants of Sodom. Perhaps instead of a fireball, He chose to send Saul to wipe out Amalek. I certainly trust God's judgement more than that of men, and the modern tragedy is that few rulers seek the counsel of God before they act.

President Netanyahu did seek "the counsel of God before he acted" given the fact that he declared publicly that Palestinians are Amalek.

you lost me there. I cannot see how your commenet is apropos my post. . .

"everything we do is right; everything they do is wrong". no one said this, certainly not me.

You repeat the mantras about "the radical Islam", "the worst terrorist society", "the Islamist cowards", the "1000 Americans killed or disfigured", "spreading hatred and death" etc. etc. without giving even a moment´s thought as to whether any of it, assuming that you are right, was action or reaction. In other words, you seem to be saying that westerners are saintly entities constantly assaulted by the savage Muslim hordes for no reason at all. Also, it is clear you ignore how radical the Bible is. Hence, my quote about the Amalek.

This section is for comments not a college doctoral thesis!

-- I ignored how radical the bible is. . .

-- I did not account for Islamists were acting or reacting. . .

-- YOU say I SAID westerners are saintly.

Gee, no I did not address all you desired! But, YOU provide no wrongful conclusions and / or BETTER ones. Use reasoning, logic and SHOW me how I am wrong instead of whining in the wind.

Let us not confuse a comment with a stream of consciousness.

Funny how those screaming the loudest about the attacks on Iran are the same people that were supporting unlimited funding for the Ukraine war. I too was confused by Trump's recent actions until I started listening to Promethean Action, a team of experts and historians with more than 30 years experience in economics, political science, banking and wars in the Middle East. They provide a clear picture of the underlying issues that we are seeing play out in front of us today and an understanding of the history they don't teach in the schools. I have learned that the real enemy is the Imperialist system and now understand how each action Trump has taken in his new term is dismantling the system and restoring the American Hamilton Economic system. Why do you think Bessent specifically mentioned the Hamilton Economic system when he spoke at DAVOS; take a listen to Promethean Action?

I'm so glad I found Promethean Action. They connect all the dots with brevity and clarity.

I suggest you dive into the Bible where prophecy guides us to Gods plan for end times. Listen at Behold Israel and follow Amir Tsarfati from Israel on Telegram and YouTube.

Your command of history will be an asset as you seek understanding to the times we live in. Thank you for your observations. Satan is a real person, and his time is short
