We had been hearing about the "polio epidemic" for a few years, and we were warned not to go swimming, because they thought the virus was in the water. Our new neighbors had a son, age 16. Both of his legs had been amputated due to polio, and he walked on artificial legs just below the knee. I asked him if he contracted the polio after he had gone swimming, and he said "YES".

A lot of time drilling down into the who's to learn this. And the what's, as in, what is medical sociology? Everything I asserted is evidenced with internet searches of names, organizations. If I am to be fair, I would asterisk Prescott Bush being one of the six Yale Civics Club attendees. They are not listed. Took a lot of reconstructing his life's timeline to place him there. But place him there I do. The circumstantial evidence and common sense is overwhelming.

In 1910, the anti-vivisection movement was growing in New York City targeting the Rockefeller Institute in general and Doc Simon in particular in what the NY Times called "sensational articles" (read: disclosing monstrous practices they were hiding in the name of "Science") appearing in the New York Herald documenting heedless and uncalled for cruelties inflicted on animals in the Institute. Doc Simon on behalf of Rockefeller fired back in a dismissive article in the New York Times:

Another possibility is that the Rockefeller research facility was testing new vaccine formulas on the immigrants at Ellis Island - I did some digging and found that vaccines were in fact given to some of the immigrants during this period. I question the Polio diagnosis. Food adulteration was also a very common practice during this time. I use to think this event was GOF but I lean more towards vaccine injury or the sanitation issues you listed.

The extensive Polio section in Turtles all the way Down is to be recommended. As I recall the. Vermont "outbreak" coincided with Apple picking time, when country kids were off school helping the pick. Paris Green was used extensively on apples as insecticide

The comparison between the Soho district of London in 1854, and the district in Brooklyn appears valid.
The Soho district well was eventually proven to have an infectious agent in the well Water. People who became ill and died who did not live in the district, had taken water from that same well while traveling through the Soho District. It was later test tested and found to be contaminated with bacteria (cholera).
The Brooklyn District that produced the first polio outbreak, was a bit different, but had some similarities.
The people were still using well water which most likely was contaminated by many different things. The Rockefeller Institute was only 3 miles away. They were experimenting with polio virus in monkeys. Could be a correlation.

In 1952, we moved to a new house in Bellevue Washington. I was 10 years old. We had been hearing about the "polio epidemic" for a few years, and we were warned not to go swimming, because they thought the virus was in the water. Our new neighbors had a son, age 16. Both of his legs had been amputated due to polio, and he walked on artificial legs just below the knee. I asked him if he contracted the polio after he had gone swimming, and he said "YES".
Most of the beaches near our home were in Lake Washington. Pesticides were heavily used in people's yards, which eventually ran off into the water in the lake. There were homes all around the Lakeshore. At the time, I believed the official story about "viruses" being the cause.
Years later, I viewed a movie (Rosalyn Russell), entitled "Sister Kinny". It was a true biography of a trained nurse in Australia who developed a therapy working with the children that made them well. It involved retraining the paralyzed limbs.
She eventually was invited to the United States to give lectures on her method (because it worked). And was laughed at and ridiculed by the medical establishment. Which we now know was Rockefeller run.
While there is a possibility that viruses do exist (we all get colds & and the flu), the question regarding polio has never been settled. The cases of polio rose significantly while DDT and other toxins were being sprayed liberally. Cows were ingesting the toxins, and it was getting into the milk at that time.
I can understand why a child would be more vulnerable than an adult when exposed to DDT and other toxins, either in water, in their milk, or yards or farms.
Curiously enough, when they outlawed DDT, the cases of polio began to drop. This was before the vaccine was invented and administered. Today, with so many laws against the spraying of toxic chemicals, there are very very few reports of polio----and hardly anyone in the last two generations have received the polio vaccine. So I believe the question is not settled – – and most likely points to the use of toxic chemicals on farms and in yards, which end up in the waterways, and in our food.
One more thing: the Rockefeller Institute said they proved that the virus could not be spread by breathing around someone else. It had to be ingested.
