In an interview, Bondi said "There is free speech and then there is hate speech." Then she said DOJ would be prosecuting hate speech. She had to walk back that statement due to public backlash, but the warning was clear. Americans must remain actively engaged to maintain their freedoms.

Narcissists consider the slightest criticism to be a deep wound and go straight into victim mode and begin gas lighting and blame shifting. That's what happens if anyone raises concerns about America's foreign rulers or its "master race." Look what happened to Charlie Kirk and how scared MTG is. It would be the ultimate narcissistic "discard" of the narcissistic abuse cycle if anything happens to MTG. The left tried to do a "reverse discard" on Charlie Kirk, blaming him for his own assassination.

It is good that Bondi walked it back: Both because she and others with power need to show humility and tone down their own hubris but also because there needs to be a demarcation line that has never been laid down. This mostly started when some porn creep millionaire sued about the law about 30 years ago(he was way worse than Hugh Hefner, can't recall name).

Although this was about porn it raised the issue how FAR can you go with FREE speech; Bondi reacted to the same basic issue regarding . . . what, MEAN talking?! Well, whatever. The point being that specifications and standards are the only thing capable of delineating how FAR.

Example of a possible "standard" of law governing FREE speech:

It is not legal to use mass media and PR to continually(more than twice) name any person, even those of high profile as a racist, fascist, Nazi, genocidic individual. Any two related or NON-related parties are chargeable. Penalty is immediate jail commensurate with the level of denigration. Level of denigration PRE-determined by a panel of 100 citizens randomly chosen in each state, but crime is a Federal crime. Level 5 = 20 years, Level 1 = 30 days.

Perhaps Keir Starmer is a Philistine Tyrant. I never met the man. His public persona reminds me of a weak man who is being controlled by others, too weak to push back and too self-centered to quit. There seems to be much of this in the public sphere in our day. Trump’s public persona comes much closer to fitting the bill, but even he would seem to have other rings to kiss, other nefarious hands to shake, when we see him next to the likes of Albert Bourla or Larry Ellison or Tony Blair

You started off great Brian, except for the word “perhaps” used to denote Starmer, then the ten years of 24/7 propaganda from the Left against the Orange Ogre “seems” to have leached from your programmed brain about the Orange Ogre “kissing rings”, and then no amount of accomplishment or method used can satisfy the propaganda you absorbed about the Ogre.

Obviously it seems you still need to take your TDS meds regularly.

The Ogre’s method here is keep friends close and enemy’s (seemingly) closer.

To be the beacon of free speech means perpetual enemies, which means one must use the enemy’s cleverness to expose themselves entering the fold of the Venus fly trap.

Everything about the $70 Billion Pfizer/Bourla offering smells like sweet nectar to them as they enter the trap because they are blinded by the hubris of their propaganda, assuming they are more clever than the Ogre.

Think people, without your emotional ego, but with your unfortunate tainted faith that the enemy used to emasculate you.

Yet today’s wieners and wannabe’s of both the Right and Left whine about their platitudes, rail and rant about perfection and truth as if it were they on Bunker and Breeds Hills to defend Milton’s dialogue with Parliament.

TDS goes both ways. But "enemies close" and "5D chess" seem wishful thinking when there's clear evidence that what America First means to DJT isn't at all what he promised voters, but instead an administration catering to Netanyahu (whom many former Israeli leaders believe threatens that country's survival), Zelenskyy (penis piano player), Starmer (persecutor of Brits, protector of rape gangs), Bourla (cheaper poisons), Ellison ("we have to know everything about you so AI can better serve you"), Gates (fake meat, real man boobs), Graham (Miss Lindsay), Ghislaine (soon to be pardoned), Epstein (never had any list or clients, just likes blond girls, we wish him well, and anyone who questions that story is "dead to me"), and the myth of the Mauser stuffed down Robinson's jeans as he climbed the stairs to the roof. It's a Venus Fly Trap all right, seemingly for Trump's voters (got me all three times).

I'm in the UK and I have to put up with them. My tax paying for their corruption. The sand art featured above is being "investigated" by the police. We did a parliamentary petition to try to stop digital ID. If more than 100,000 people sign it is supposed to be debated in parliament. Over 2.75 million signed and the response was - they're going ahead anyway, no debate, no vote. We have a compromised judiciary (Fabians all, I guess) who have sent over 30 people to prison for posting on X. You can steal from shops now, legally (up to £200), migrants are coming in and their dinghies driven back to France ready for the next lot.

The UK and Ireland are smallish countries and the purposeful destruction is so glaring as to burn the eyes. There is an obvious concerted effort to bring down the west in general. A more recent British philosopher who is probably rolling over in his grave is John Stuart Mill. In Chapter 2 of On Liberty, he gives a penetrating and devastating critique of censhorship, showing that from every possible angle and every possible confluence of circumstances, it does far more harm to a society than any supposedly harmful speech, true or false. The only advantage it provides is to the party whose prospect for retaining their grip on power depends on them being the only one speaking.

Here is a review of Mill's argument, in the context of American censorship. The same argument applies to what the UK is now doing, and they are especially blameworthy for ignoring the unanswerable critique of their own eminent scion of political philosophy. https://markleone.substack.com/p/the-danger-of-safety

Nothing can be done through conventional political channels. I have written repeatedly to my MP with well evidenced letters and always get back a letter that would disgrace a fourteen year old.

Oddly, the House of Lords seems to preserve a modicum of democratic debate.

The entire situation can only end badly for the people as those in power are deliberately stoking division and hatred. Britain is historically a very peaceful country. They will have more problems in getting us fighting each other than in many other countries. The reported "riots" were talked up by the media. They did not occur.

The lies and falsity of TPTB are becoming evident to everyone...I have spoken to "normies" and they generally realise what is going on.

I have a different point of view. Edmund Burke once said "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” Speech that incites murder is hate speech and evil and when we are no longer capable of understanding the difference and frozen in fear or apathy or an ignorant misunderstanding of the limits of alleged free speech from doing anything about it, we are doomed as a civilization.

Expand full comment

agree Mike,

We need legalese in the First Amendment expressing "standards" that say exactly what you state:

"Speech that incites murder is hate speech and evil."

Perfect example, to be placed IN the law itself: Charlie Kirk's death inspired by mass media outright naming him as a Fascist.

Expand full comment

I am reasonably confident the drafters of the 1st Amendment thought at the time that speech that incites murder was not protected speech.

Expand full comment
pretty-red, old guy's avatar

Surely they did, but absent more specifics and leaving the wording so broad, allows us descendants wild inference and confusion. Hey, I am a retired engineer and certainly not familiar with the "legalese" required but know that when writing a contract for performance, a purchase order, etc. specific wording prevents later lawsuits and contempt. The very existence of the Amendments testifies that: "further clarification was required".

In MY opinion the Constitution was written by a large committee of divergent minds and energies and, while they endeavored to be pithy, eschewed further debate in order to finally reach a form all could endorse.

In their quest for completion this shortcoming only later has become evident to bite future generations.

Good thought, P-R O G, that has probably been done...but been "hushed up". The Beatles, Stones et al were ultimately controlled by The Tavistock Institute, London...while most of those well-known rock, etc bands in the US were created/controlled by the CIA & military...The Doors provide a classic example. Billy Shears is taller than the real Paul was...and he had to learn to play the guitar left handed. Billy is a more versatile, creative musician than Paul...when he joined The Beatles, he took them to a whole new level. And of course there was the influence of Theodor Adorno et al from Germany, who many think wrote most of their songs. "Oh what a tangled web we weave..."
