Absolutely agree: I have worked in oil and minerals and ripping away soil to cultivate minerals for batteries that are then fed by coal over a wire (where 57% of electricity is lost) to feed EVs is beyond inefficient versus non-fracked oil. Ruining the Amazon for soy beans for Chinese pigs is more disturbing. China and India both burn energy made up of over 55% coal and our "manufacturers" using that is criminal. If we never outsourced to China / India the carbon footprint would be lower and we would have more knowledge of efficient manufacturing that would have led to more competition, more consistent resourcing in times of crisis (war, covid), and lower prices. (That is why companies outsourced : to reduce competition and reduce liability). Oh the web we have woven.
