Let’s hope this happens!!! We need this!!!

No one should vote against this bill, since the vaccines are all safe and effective. /s

This was initially signed under Reagan to shield the pharmaceutical industry, not for the protection of citizens……

Far too many have been maimed, injured or died in the interim.

Thank you for sharing trying hard. A Shot in the Dark was written about that time, possibly, I heard Barbara Loe Fisher speak at a conference- I got my healthcare vaccine loving employer to pay for my ticket:trip. Circa 1994 .

Trying hard's avatar

Good for you way back then! And getting your boss to pay no less. My experiences were in the 1980s.

So babies did not get near the number of Vaccines than they do now, But even then, I questioned the pediatrician because I absolutely hated the trauma and sickness that followed each vaccine. It all felt wrong to me. I even went to the public library and checked out two enormous books on vaccines, but of course they were written by vaccine developers. Now we know there were already problems. I think the beautiful healthy little boy baby died in 1988, because he was near the same age as my final son who was born in 1987. As horrified and grieving mothers, I don't believe we ever discussed if the vaccines he had just had were playing a role in this tragedy Because we were being assured constantly by pediatricians and society that "crib death" just sometimes "simply happened".

Expound on this, if you know. I think they tricked Reagan into this by burying it in legislation that appeared good on the surface. I just dont see Reagan signing a bill to shield manufacturers of childhood vaccines. I understand that was the outcome.

Trying hard's avatar

I remember when it happened. I was a busy mother with 3 little boys, And no internet existed so I basically believed what I heard on the TV and from the pediatrician. I now know how wrong everything was but at the time it did seem that almost everyone thought vaccines were the greatest things since sliced bread. I do remember being perplexed about this immunity shield the vaccine makers. It was so different from anything else in our world where you have to be held accountable for your product. But the way it was explained to me made a little bit of sense at the time: Here is the reasoning as I remember it: Vaccine makers have to have an immunity shield because if they didn't just a few lawsuits would drive them out of business. They must be shielded From the few who are harmed by vaccines, so they can continue research and development on all vaccines for all. Otherwise we will have NO vaccines. "After all vaccines are SAFE AND EFFECTIVE! 👺" Of my very close circle of moms who had children around the same ages of my sons, One beautiful healthy 3 month old bouncing baby boy died in his crib the night after his vaccines. His death haunts me to this day.

I read pharma threatened to stop making vaccines as they were losing so much money to lawsuits if they were not granted indemnity. Reagan was kind of over a barrel. I wish he would have called their bluff. But back then we only had about 4-5 shots on the schedule. It was shortly after their immunity that the schedule exploded.

they said they would not be able to develop new drugs without some type of protection/incentive , i believe they are not doing this for the good of the people, they are evil and only in it for the $$$

Fred's avatar

💯 I think he was convinced that we needed vaccines to save lives, and what “few” were injured would be fairly handled.

Deb's avatar

Part of the law is that the vaccine manufacturers were to work to develop safer vaccines. However the manufacturers were never held to the task of making the drugs safer. Instead, they developed more and more of the drugs, lobbied legislators bipartisanly, convinced the lawmakers that "herd immunity" needed greater and greater percentages of population to take the drugs, therefore the drugs need to be mandated ...for the good of the people.

Emailed both our senators asking them to co-sponsor this after I saw Robert Malone's X post several hours ago. Please everyone - contact your senators to get this passed!

Rand Paul….finally doing the right thing.

Trying hard's avatar

That would be such a game changer to at least make the vaccine makers play by the same rules as everyone else. They are completely unaccountable to anyone now which is shameful and so dangerous for the children. Good for Sen. Paul.

Blind faith in vaccines is being challenged at last. They need to be made to PROVE that their vaccine products actually work. No proof would mean no licence. If anything there's proof that say, the Flu vaccine actually makes you more likely to get Influenza !

Gail Spilovoy's avatar

Yes, I took a flu shot that was offered for free at a new teaching job where I started working & within a week I had a terrible flu for over a month. Several of the parents also had the flu after the shot.

sandy's avatar

If the liability Shield were to go away, most vaccines would probably go away.

Crixcyon's avatar

That would truly be one of the greatest things to happen in the last 100 years.

Michelle Rabin Ph. D.'s avatar

I believe that is the bottom line. NO physician would be willing to take the risk. Given that reality, I'd like to see the rules go back to what they had been - all vaccines that are recommended by the CDC would maintain the shield. This is due to fact that democratic states are trying to create a system where they can maintain a shield for all vaccines.

Very good to see this, may it find its way to becoming law. FINALLY.

Hi Nicholas, Congressman Gosar introduced a bill to do this in 2024 and 2025: H.R. 4668, the End the Vaccine Carveout Act. Why did you never cover it? [EDIT: He did! Thank you—missed it!]

Reader East of Albuquerque's avatar

Thank you, Nicolas Hulscher, I so appreciate your work.

K.V. SCHOTT's avatar

My apologies! I never saw this!

TrumpFan's avatar

So what happened with Reps Gosar's and Massie's bills?

SHug's avatar

Gosar, while great, is in Congress. The Senate just ignored it, just like they do most things from the House. Now, we have a bit of hope. Neither of my Senators will do this,. they are blue as they get and depend on the big pHarma money.

sandy's avatar

Tell the senate to end the silent filibuster so they can get some legislation passed.

K.V. SCHOTT's avatar

Yes. Gosar’s bill has thirty cosponsors but the Senate companion will lend much-needed legitimacy.

Jo Hayman's avatar

This would be great if it had a “snowball’s” chance of passing to become law. However, knowing that “big Pharma” is probably the main financial contributor to political campaigns, it would never get through Congress. Then also remember our medical system depends on those same “avenues of income” for “improvements “, research, etc., and would not readily give up those dollars. Never forget the past couple of years and how our lives were literally controlled by big drug companies.

Ameer Ahmad's avatar

We absolutely need this… several of my nephews kids are injured from childhood vaccines, ADHD, delayed speech, can’t walk, or talk.. & many of my friends have children with autism & many other injuries…

Marilyn Wick's avatar

Awesome. This needed to be legislated years ago . Soo many have died & there are no repercussions for those pharmaceuticals.

Crixcyon's avatar

The greater problem is that big pharma still rules congress and has for decades. If congress cared one iota for the people of this country, they would have done something 20 years ago. But they work for the deep state demons who employ big pharma to do their murder.

sandy's avatar

The Senate needs to END the silent filibuster ASAP so that it can get some important legislation, including this bill, passed. democracy.io
