Is this really going to make a difference in your income? Here's a challenge. I would suggest just asking. If your substack income is a necessity, then keep it open and ask for subscriptions. Just be honest. You just might be surprised. If you don't meet your needs then tell your readers, I'm going to go to a paywall model which I'm sure everyone would understand.

I don't know what Cpl Dan above thinks, but I do know from all the ancestors in my family who survived and came home from war, and told me to my face, that their view of both politicians, governments and the purpose of war was never the same after they came home.
And that isn't just because of the PTSD associated with the "actions" of war, but the sheer futility of it all and the fact that they know that the real benefactors of war, are the unseen hands that move the "chess" pieces.
Surely, you as a historian, know all this???

Oct 7 was an intelligence and political failure of the first order. The Qatari cash pipeline to Gaza under the theory that Hamas could be managed is now a matter of public record and Israeli argument, not a rumor. Those facts should be faced. They do not turn the war after a massacre into industrial genocide, and they do not make every Israeli the son who gassed a people.
Netanyahu will answer to his voters and to history for the failure on his watch. He will also answer for refusing a second October 7. Those are not the same ledger. Standing in the world can be lost by incompetence. It can also be lost because much of that world already rejected Jewish sovereignty before the first tunnel was dug.

I think any country can fall from grace. When not just the leaders, but the people, no longer maintain decency, then anything can - and usually does - happen. It's not pretty to watch it all unfold. Countries are falling from grace all over the world, in varying stages, in varying ways.
The Middle East is a nightmare, though. Countries borne from lines drawn on a map settle better than people do! People have memories, histories; lineage. You can't just relocate people like you would a box. But that is what has been done, and we wonder why there is unrest in the Middle East?! EVERYONE has done badly by the Middle East, including those living there.
The history of this cradle of civilisation region goes back so many thousands of years. How can you maintain prosperity - let alone peace - when there's so much from the past currently in the present...? No wonder it's a mess. No wonder there's always a war going on in the region. And it's going to continue to be a mess until either almost everyone is dead, or the place is so destroyed by war, not even the weeds will grow there anymore.
And then we will have more relocated people (who bring their damaged pasts with them). And more problems!
And the saga continues...

Is this really going to make a difference in your income? Here's a challenge. I would suggest just asking. If your substack income is a necessity, then keep it open and ask for subscriptions. Just be honest. You just might be surprised. If you don't meet your needs then tell your readers, I'm going to go to a paywall model which I'm sure everyone would understand.
But then compare the revenue. If it makes almost no difference then why restrict your audience. I just think your very style of frequent, short form writing won't sell like you think it will. Not a criticism at all. I have been subscribed and love everything you put out. But I wouldn't consider paying anything for it. Books, or maybe a series? Sure, of course.
Bottom line is that I think you are making a difference and opening up a new world view to so many people. I want you to be prosperous but I just don't think pay walling this particular venue is going to reap much reward but the alternative. I could be wrong, and I support any decision you decide.

Seriously? you equate a hungry bear to a pestilence? As you know Hamas is an Islamo-Terrorist arm of Islam. Since conception Islam has been a disease that rapes, kills, destroys as it gobbles up the lands where peaceful people live. Once I came to understand most aren't leaders rather they are mentally diseased control freaks (sociopaths, psychopaths, etc.) who've insinuated their way into positions of power, driven the by compulsion characteristic of their disease, then actual observed behavior became easy to understand and anticipate (ignore their manipulative, self-serving nonsense rhetoric). History has shown this to be true, as attested to in the Bible. Jesus saves... "Vaccines" kill and maim. "Vaccines" are not "safe and effective". Satan has deceived the world, but Jesus said "I am the way, the truth and the life. No man cometh to the Father but by me". If our leaders would simply trust Jesus, and do what He commanded, and tell the truth, the world would be a lovely place. Instead, we are facing a catastrophic judgement by God. Indeed, John Leake, the Bible teaches that a nation IS RUINED by it's leaders who have fallen from the grace of God.
He (Jesus, as he is called in English) also said: “Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother…” Matthew 10:34-35
He also said: “Suppose you that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division.” Luke 12:51
And most importantly and of even greater consequence: “I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” Matthew 15:24
Perhaps holding our leaders accountable will go a long way to redeeming our integrity;
and if done truly will impress the World of our true intent.
Our leaders do what they can to protect the people. Accountable for what?

Agree. Primary Sociopathy is plausibly the #1 bio-logical explanation for ‘evil’. It’s hidden in plain sight, and yet it seems like very few people can perceive and realize it.
It is crucial to understand why such men rise to the top, how we can recognize them and how we can stop them. I believe that it is those same few who rise to the top of most major corporations. Why did we not recognize that evil in Jeffery Epstein? Why did that evil fester in our government for so long? Why are those who participated being protected? We desperately need to clean house.
One problem: at 4%, primary sociopaths/psychopaths are not easily recognized.
Another: They CAN be identified using psychometric questionnaires and brain imaging - which bristles with implications - but realistically, how could those instruments be employed for the restriction/removal of sociopaths for betterment of societies?
A nation can be irrevocably ruined when its people fall from the grace of God. Turning away from God leads to downfall. The US has pockets of Christian revival which gives me just a glimmer of hope but there is a large part of our culture that has turned away from our nation’s founding principles based on Christian teaching and values. There is a culture of death that has grown to unacceptable levels; abortion, MAiD… This can lead to the death of a nation.
