As an Aussie, I was horrified how Novak Djokovic was treated. I really disliked my country for doing that.
Because the AO is held in Melbourne, the longest locked down city in the world, possibly it made things even worse, but given how horrid people were all over Australia still, at that time, maybe it wouldn't have been any better if the AO was held elsewhere! I recall in the country town I worked in, even the newsagency put up a yellow sign that said 'if you're not covid-vaccinated, you can't come in'! So yeah, the plebs in my idiotic country really took up the reins for nastiness, not just the politicians or tournament directors! I always thought Aussies were pretty nice...until covid happened. The level of out & out nastiness and in some cases sheer brutality was beyond comprehension, first by the government but also by ordinary citizens toward their fellow countrymen (and women!). I can only imagine what it must have been like for you, very very sad indeed mate.

I was even kicked out of my place of work (for a day, before I was told I could come back!) by the business owner, all because I questioned the public health orders! They were crazy times, alright. Possibly the lowest time was when the Victorian police opened fire on their own people, with rubber bullets. That was just atrocious.
Since covid, it's made me reassess...everything. I've not got my old happiness level back. My mood has a seeming permanent 'depressed' edge, if you like - but it's not clinical depression or anything. I'm just...not as happy and carefree as I once was. How can I be? I cannot go back to interacting with people like I used to, because I can't trust that they won't do this again. I can't just FORGET what so many people were like during the covid years. Especially from people who seemed...pretty damned good beforehand! I don't get how people can effectively forget something like that? How they can just get on with things and pretend like they're 'back to normal' or something? I can't just shut off part of my brain! Maybe because I have a working one, ha ha.
The worst thing is that almost NONE of them have ever said something like 'Sorry for being a complete jerkwad. I don't know what came over me. I was such a horrible idiot. I'll try a lot harder to be decent if the government tries to pull anything like that again!' No, most people have just moved on and they STILL pretend like it is in the past, so they don't have to deal with it in any way whatsoever. There's just no self-responsibility. None. It's not a 'free' country, Alan. Not anymore. Most people have been taken in, hook, line & sinker. In that sense, TPTB won.

I have countless times over the past half dozen years recalled a noteworthy observation by the American writer & humorist Mark Twain that applies here, even as we continue to see it today: "It's a lot easier to fool someone than it is to convince them they've been fooled."
It is hard to know quite how to respond to all you expressed above. When I viewed videos of individuals young & old being thrown to the ground, assaulted by police, demonized by govt officials and media, essentially treated like society's most heinous criminals (we know who the real criminals were/are of course), etc., I was dumbstruck. I kept wishing it was all some dark dystopian nightmare, like a film from the "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" or "Night of the Living Dead" genres. And seeing similar happenings from other places around the planet showed us all how easily the masses could, in an instant, be deprived of all manner of autonomy and basic fundamental human rights.
Not to go on ad nauseam here but I genuinely and deeply feel for your mental and emotional pain, anguish, & suffering. You may be familiar with the work of Dr. Mattias Desmet, the Belgian professor of psychology who eloquently described the phenomenon of Mass Formation (building on the previous work of others such as Hannah Arendt and Gustave Le Bon in particular as he readily acknowledged) which addressed the psychology of crowds, the manipulation of the masses using fear, intimidation, and the identifying of a scapegoat or party to blame. His work during the Covid scamdemic was among the most articulate and enlightening to have emerged in the global town square of ideas if you will. His book "The Psychology of Totalitarianism" is recommended reading for anyone want to understand how the world was led into the acute sadistic psychosis we observed and in some cases were on the receiving end of.
Fear and the constant drumbeat of "you're gonna die!!!" changes the human brain (see Dr. Michael Nehls' "The Indoctrinated Brain" for more on that) to the extent that otherwise kind, caring, connected people lose that connection to their present and, even more important, their past and others.
Understanding all this, to a relative extent anyway, can help us even if it cannot undo what took place. We both know the world has changed and sadly there is no going back to what was before the planned takedown of humanity was unfurled in all its hideous glory for all to see. I don't necessarily believe TPTB "won", but they certainly inflicted a massive amount of harm. Those of us who could see through it, through our tears perhaps but see it nonetheless, are the ones who must continue to carry the best of what humanity is and can be forward. And never give them the satisfaction of thinking they defeated us, ever. They did not.

Indeed they did inflict a lot of harm, in so many ways. I had a close friend who went to a demonstration during covid - my intuition told me to miss that particular one - and she ended up with blisters/burns after the AFP (Australian Federal Police) used radiating appliances against the crowd! No rubber bullets, just bodily reactions later on....
And as much as the covid saga was - and still is - horrific, I grew up with a Narcissistic (complete with God-complex) Asperger's single mother with some OCD thrown in for good measure, so emotionally, I already knew what totalitarianism was. That was probably why I had such a strong reaction to the covid madness....'Not again!!!'
I'd been the scapegoat a long time, and now here I was, standing on the 'wrong' side of society. Here I was, defending myself to each and every person, not just my mother!
Now I don't speak with that many people, and I don't talk to my mother at all. It's quieter, but it's liberating :-)
Not sure I need to read all those books. I've kind of lived it! But I have done a lot of psychology reading on NPD (narcissistic personality disorder)...and it explains a lot about not just my mother, but my childhood, the world at large - and the psychos who try to run the joint!
Anyway, I know I will never be defeated. I'm one tough lioness! I wrote above that TPTB won in a sense - but that's based on the (high number of) people who can't/won't see what's going on. If they don't wake up, they're no good to our fight.

I can only say that I am so sorry you had one for a parent. Your childhood must have been a nightmare I'm sure. honest question, if we are to believe that Jesus is God and Jesus is sinless because he was not born from sin, how can one that is sinless be tempted to sin by Satan?
Sometimes God allows Satan to test the faith of those devoted to Him, as in the case of Job. Job did not commit any sin or offense against God that justified his suffering and misfortune. Instead, God allowed Satan to have authority over Job because Satan challenged the reasons behind Job's fidelity to God, stating that Job was only faithful because of the blessings God bestowed upon him. The devil then takes away everything Job holds dear, including his children. Despite this, Job remains faithful to God, increases his virtue and humiliates Satan at the same time. Eventually, God restores greater prosperity to Job including more children. Job, in turn, appreciated that prosperity with greater praise and graciousness because he had experienced the opposite. The virtue Job gained was humility, as he now understood that he can't comprehend God's divine plan for us. This story also illustrates the contempt Satan has for man. It never admitted that it was wrong or felt any regret for inflicting so much misery on an innocent man. The pride and envy of Satan blinded it to the nobility of man, created in God's image, willing to endure much suffering without turning away from God.
One thing I take from the story of Job is also that Satan had to ask God's permission to do all of these things to Job and God instructs Satan what he can and cannot do. This refutes the Christian claim that Satan is a fallen angel. Without Satan there cannot be righteousness. But anyhow, Satan cannot tempt a sinless God man or God incarnate that is sinless to sin that story does not make sense.
Well Rachel, a bit of background facts that are scriptural to clear things up. Jesus took on the form of a human in His mission to die for the sins of sinful man. It does state after His death on the cross he laid three days in a tomb and resurrected the third day, ascending to Heaven in His GLORIFICATION. Upon His glorification it says, "unto Him hath God given ALL POWER in the Heavens above and in the world below. Jesus was sinless but in his humanity was tempted by Satan in the desert in His human form.
The crucifiction was designed to strip those suffering that fate of everything and suffer a slow death. But there is/was a lie that has been perpetrated on Christianity today. That lie is that he did not wear a loin cloth. He was crucified to have the least indignity imposed on Him. And that meant being naked.
God is in purpose and function Three in One purpose but in three distinct purposes...The Holy Spirit was delegated after Jesus ascended to Heaven, to be here as the Comforter to aid us in our earthly struggles. I am very rough and despise injustice in any form. In fact I hate it. There is a good chance you are a better person that I. Humility is something I seek to grasp. I am doing a study on death and dying and getting lots of questions answered by the videos of the late Billy Graham who stood true to his calling all his life.
This is spurred by my parents who both told me they were not afraid to die and in fact father wanted to decease and did so by agreement of a major hospital with the presence of four family members to be with him around the clock on shifts in what we termed a "death watch." He never said it but I am of the opinion his own family (brothers and sisters) emotionally injured him and were cruel to him though he was liked and valued by everyone else who knew him.
I was opposed but the family had their way and he was not despairing but wanted to die based on the state of the world and his/our relatives who were in many cases the scum of the earth, all of which I have estranged according to the scriptures.
In his last few days he was noted saying, "Just a little bit longer." I surmise He was trying to identify and ask forgiveness of each individual sin he had committed though he was seen as a good man and the minister who preached his funeral told me "your father was ordered and principled" but as it is written "There are none righteous no not one.
For my part as the oldest he was a good man, caring of his children and his wife. But scriptures never lie for anyone.

That has happened twice in my life and both cases involved women. One case involved my arming myself and the other case involved a fool that dared to interfere in the best interests of a woman who was a guide for me in America. In that case, her and I left pronto after I had "disqualified" the guy and the other case the police came and found me to be legitimate but warning me there was a bylaw that stated I could not have a loaded gun in the city boundaries. It is probably on record still but I was not shaken or worried if I had to wound or even kill someone. Why? It says in scriptures, "He who knoweth to do good and doeth it not to him it is sin." Thus Rachel, to have let a criminal kill a single mother would have been a serious sin on my head but also gal, if you turn to Revelation Chapter 21 verse 8 it clearly states that being a coward in such a situation is a sin UNTO DEATH AND DAMNATION ALONG WITH OTHER ABOMINABLE SINS.

As an Aussie, I was horrified how Novak Djokovic was treated. I really disliked my country for doing that.
Because the AO is held in Melbourne, the longest locked down city in the world, possibly it made things even worse, but given how horrid people were all over Australia still, at that time, maybe it wouldn't have been any better if the AO was held elsewhere! I recall in the country town I worked in, even the newsagency put up a yellow sign that said 'if you're not covid-vaccinated, you can't come in'! I was even kicked out of my place of work (for a day, before I was told I could come back!) by the business owner, all because I questioned the public health orders! They were crazy times, alright. Since covid, it's made me reassess...everything. I've not got my old happiness level back. My mood has a seeming permanent 'depressed' edge, if you like - but it's not clinical depression or anything. I'm just...not as happy and carefree as I once was. How can I be? I cannot go back to interacting with people like I used to, because I can't trust that they won't do this again. I can't just FORGET what so many people were like during the covid years. Especially from people who seemed...pretty damned good beforehand! I don't get how people can effectively forget something like that? How they can just get on with things and pretend like they're 'back to normal' or something? I can't just shut off part of my brain! Maybe because I have a working one, ha ha.
The worst thing is that almost NONE of them have ever said something like 'Sorry for being a complete jerkwad. I don't know what came over me. I was such a horrible idiot. I'll try a lot harder to be decent if the government tries to pull anything like that again!' No, most people have just moved on and they STILL pretend like it is in the past, so they don't have to deal with it in any way whatsoever. There's just no self-responsibility. None. It's not a 'free' country, Alan. Not anymore. Most people have been taken in, hook, line & sinker. In that sense, TPTB won.

It is hard to know quite how to respond to all you expressed above. When I viewed videos of individuals young & old being thrown to the ground, assaulted by police, demonized by govt officials and media, essentially treated like society's most heinous criminals (we know who the real criminals were/are of course), etc., I was dumbstruck. I kept wishing it was all some dark dystopian nightmare, like a film from the "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" or "Night of the Living Dead" genres. And seeing similar happenings from other places around the planet showed us all how easily the masses could, in an instant, be deprived of all manner of autonomy and basic fundamental human rights.
Not to go on ad nauseam here but I genuinely and deeply feel for your mental and emotional pain, anguish, & suffering. You may be familiar with the work of Dr. Mattias Desmet, the Belgian professor of psychology who eloquently described the phenomenon of Mass Formation (building on the previous work of others such as Hannah Arendt and Gustave Le Bon in particular as he readily acknowledged) which addressed the psychology of crowds, the manipulation of the masses using fear, intimidation, and the identifying of a scapegoat or party to blame. His work during the Covid scamdemic was among the most articulate and enlightening to have emerged in the global town square of ideas if you will. His book "The Psychology of Totalitarianism" is recommended reading for anyone want to understand how the world was led into the acute sadistic psychosis we observed and in some cases were on the receiving end of.
Fear and the constant drumbeat of "you're gonna die!!!" changes the human brain (see Dr. Michael Nehls' "The Indoctrinated Brain" for more on that) to the extent that otherwise kind, caring, connected people lose that connection to their present and, even more important, their past and others.
Understanding all this, to a relative extent anyway, can help us even if it cannot undo what took place. We both know the world has changed and sadly there is no going back to what was before the planned takedown of humanity was unfurled in all its hideous glory for all to see. I don't necessarily believe TPTB "won", but they certainly inflicted a massive amount of harm. Those of us who could see through it, through our tears perhaps but see it nonetheless, are the ones who must continue to carry the best of what humanity is and can be forward. And never give them the satisfaction of thinking they defeated us, ever. They did not.

Indeed they did inflict a lot of harm, in so many ways. I had a close friend who went to a demonstration during covid - my intuition told me to miss that particular one - and she ended up with blisters/burns after the AFP (Australian Federal Police) used radiating appliances against the crowd! No rubber bullets, just bodily reactions later on....
And as much as the covid saga was - and still is - horrific, I grew up with a Narcissistic (complete with God-complex) Asperger's single mother with some OCD thrown in for good measure, so emotionally, I already knew what totalitarianism was. That was probably why I had such a strong reaction to the covid madness....'Not again!!!'
I'd been the scapegoat a long time, and now here I was, standing on the 'wrong' side of society. Here I was, defending myself to each and every person, not just my mother!
Now I don't speak with that many people, and I don't talk to my mother at all. It's quieter, but it's liberating :-)
Not sure I need to read all those books. I've kind of lived it! But I have done a lot of psychology reading on NPD (narcissistic personality disorder)...and it explains a lot about not just my mother, but my childhood, the world at large - and the psychos who try to run the joint!
Anyway, I know I will never be defeated. I'm one tough lioness! I wrote above that TPTB won in a sense - but that's based on the (high number of) people who can't/won't see what's going on. If they don't wake up, they're no good to our fight.

Sometimes God allows Satan to test the faith of those devoted to Him, as in the case of Job. Job did not commit any sin or offense against God that justified his suffering and misfortune. Instead, God allowed Satan to have authority over Job because Satan challenged the reasons behind Job's fidelity to God, stating that Job was only faithful because of the blessings God bestowed upon him. The devil then takes away everything Job holds dear, including his children. Despite this, Job remains faithful to God, increases his virtue and humiliates Satan at the same time. Eventually, God restores greater prosperity to Job including more children. Job, in turn, appreciated that prosperity with greater praise and graciousness because he had experienced the opposite. One thing I take from the story of Job is also that Satan had to ask God's permission to do all of these things to Job and God instructs Satan what he can and cannot do. This refutes the Christian claim that Satan is a fallen angel. Without Satan there cannot be righteousness. But anyhow, Satan cannot tempt a sinless God man or God incarnate that is sinless to sin that story does not make sense.
Well Rachel, a bit of background facts that are scriptural to clear things up. Jesus took on the form of a human in His mission to die for the sins of sinful man. It does state after His death on the cross he laid three days in a tomb and resurrected the third day, ascending to Heaven in His GLORIFICATION. Upon His glorification it says, "unto Him hath God given ALL POWER in the Heavens above and in the world below. Jesus was sinless but in his humanity was tempted by Satan in the desert in His human form.
The crucifiction was designed to strip those suffering that fate of everything and suffer a slow death. But there is/was a lie that has been perpetrated on Christianity today. That lie is that he did not wear a loin cloth. He was crucified to have the least indignity imposed on Him. And that meant being naked.

God hates as much as He loves, He is God of wrath and slew over ten thousand of His people for being ingrates.
There is a good chance you are a better person that I. Humility is something I seek to grasp. I am doing a study on death and dying and getting lots of questions answered by the videos of the late Billy Graham who stood true to his calling all his life.
This is spurred by my parents who both told me they were not afraid to die and in fact father wanted to decease and did so by agreement of a major hospital with the presence of four family members to be with him around the clock on shifts in what we termed a "death watch." He never said it but I am of the opinion his own family (brothers and sisters) emotionally injured him and were cruel to him though he was liked and valued by everyone else who knew him.
I was opposed but the family had their way and he was not despairing but wanted to die based on the state of the world and his/our relatives who were in many cases the scum of the earth, all of which I have estranged according to the scriptures.
In his last few days he was noted saying, "Just a little bit longer." I surmise He was trying to identify and ask forgiveness of each individual sin he had committed though he was seen as a good man and the minister who preached his funeral told me "your father was ordered and principled" but as it is written "There are none righteous no not one.
For my part as the oldest he was a good man, caring of his children and his wife. But scriptures never lie for anyone.

Memories. There are good and there are bad. The bad generally flow from the corrupt CYSTem such as the tenure of the pie faced, ample assed turdo with an IQ of 4 but an amazing ability to suck farts from dead seagulls while also straining the maggots between his teeth and spitting them out. See the angry side of me? That is something as well that God sets the example for. Yes He is God of Mercy and Love but note in His wrath caused by the Israelites who Moses had led out of Egypt, He noted these people were ingrates, whiners and complainers. He slew over ten thousand of them and would have wiped them all out except "Moses found favor in the sight of God and so He stopped.
Many people are not scriptural and declare God a God of Mercy and Love BUT HE IS ALSO A GOD OF WRATH and that is true. Note in Ecclesiastes that it says "there is a time to love and a time to hate..." Get it?
Do we have to get along with everyone? Imagine if you were walking down a street and were accosted by human trash. I would be and am responsible according to another scripture to protect you and I dare say it would also be required of me to die for you or kill if need be to protect your life if someone tried to take it.
That has happened twice in my life and both cases involved women. One case involved my arming myself and the other case involved a fool that dared to interfere in the best interests of a woman who was a guide for me in America. In that case, her and I left pronto after I had "disqualified" the guy and the other case the police came and found me to be legitimate but warning me there was a bylaw that stated I could not have a loaded gun in the city boundaries. It is probably on record still but I was not shaken or worried if I had to wound or even kill someone. Why? It says in scriptures, "He who knoweth to do good and doeth it not to him it is sin." Thus Rachel, to have let a criminal kill a single mother would have been a serious sin on my head but also gal, if you turn to Revelation Chapter 21 verse 8 it clearly states that being a coward in such a situation is a sin UNTO DEATH AND DAMNATION ALONG WITH OTHER ABOMINABLE SINS.
I have raised my son according to scriptures and the damned CYSTem of crooked pigs up here in blue uniforms can make like the birds and flock off. Sovereign obedience to scriptures is necessary in our lives. See the judgment? It is clear. That single mother was innocent but a dude drunken or drug addled needed to die if necessary so that justice would prevail.
My father is buried beside my mother and she told me just short of her death with her 100th birthday being but only four months away that she wanted me to be buried beside her. On her other side is my father. Mother was a WW2 veteran.
I do not pressure anyone because no one pressured me to embrace Christianity. It is all up to you gal but in passing I want to say like Celia here, she also has a pretty name as you and the women here do.
Woman was Gods most precious and beautiful creation...women can nurture life and there is no woman I have ever met regardless of weight, race, etc that was not qualified for the above depiction.
If you are married, he should look after you. If not you will have to look after yourself because no other save close family members will.
As I said, both my parents told me they were not afraid of dying and neither am I. It is a beginning, not an ending. If I am wrong that is okay but if i am right then eternity awaits me if I am not ready and surrendered. But I am rough yet I know He is well aware of that. In a session with my minister he told me I was in fact rough but was still a diamond in the rough.
Where did that come from? It was because I broke in discussing a woman who had suffered grievous hurt, pain, abuse all her life as a child. Incidentally, she was the one I fought for and man handled a fool who had tried to interfere in her best interests.
That specific happening was indeed a time for anger and I obliged. To this day we are close friends. I have known her almost two decades and I would not only fight for her at the drop of a hat but just because she is not only far better than I but a woman among others I would and have fought for and would die for to protect her. That would indeed be a noble event.
No I do not run or try to talk myself out of any incident when action is necessary. And I have been and will be...
