"8 cases per million doses"

Do people realise how rare this is? And from these super rare cases of myocarditis about 80% are so light they don't require medication. The 28 autopsy-confirmed deaths globally attributed to vaccine-induced myocarditis, represent an occurrence of about 1 death per 500 million vaccine doses. Not to mention the risk of myocarditis after catching covid19 is about 200 per million, or 25 times more common compared to vaccinations, and the cases are more severe.

As someone with a PhD in math, I am amazed at how few people understand risk. They fear the black swan events much more than the events that are actually more riskier. One of my hobbies, odd though it may be, is walking old cemeteries and reading gravestones. You can learn a lot about the kinds of things that seriously changed the face of an entire community in the not-so-distant past. And most cemeteries are a record of how devastating disease has been — taking infants and children, mothers and fathers, and elders. Waves that sometimes reduced towns by 50%! And people who have no memory of this any longer, because they live in a time of a modern miracles (vaccines, high quality health care, rapid response) — they begin to challenge death itself, believing that the very tools that save millions are now the danger. And so in their ignorance of risk and science and history, they may dismantle the very system that has protected them. They react to the rare black swan event, that affected a few. And then we get to remember the real danger to an entire community, a nation. It is right there in every cemetery. And history loves to laugh as it repeats.

Yes, people lack critical thinking. I tend to believe that the only solution to all our problems is better education. Young people should learn how to think at school. They should learn propositional logic and probability theory (including about statistical paradoxes), they should learn some philosophy including epistemology. We're not naturally good at reasoning, we have to learn it.

Excellent post. You are exactly right. They will fear a vaccine with a mortality rate of 1 per 3-4 million doses and happily risk a disease with a mortality rate of 115 per 100,000 people.

Conversely, despite the fact that the virus is much less (about 10 times less) virulent today than the original strain of 2020, the infection fatality rate (i.e. the probability of dying if infected) is still about 0.15% on average (not far from your 0.115%, which is perhaps for a country with better medical services). But for those over 70 it's 0.5% and for those over 80 it's 2%! Those who are vaccinated are 10 to 20 times less likely to die if infected. In summary, for somebody over 70 the risk of dying if infected starts at 0.5% and goes up to 2% or more, while the risk of dying because of a vaccination is about 0.000001%. Old people who do not vaccinate are playing Russian roulette with their lives.

I agree with you. There's no 'absolute' number, frankly because it varies even from region to region in the United States. There are so many factors, such as percent of population vaccinated, average age of the population, percent of the population with co-morbidities, likelihood of people spending more time outdoors & so forth. But we don't know if or when it will become more virulent again. And we are still losing hundreds of people per week to Covid-19, some young.

Many well-meaning people get confused by the number of deaths that occur a few weeks after vaccination, but the vaccine is not a magic potion that will protect you from dying from any cause for a few weeks. What matters is the mortality *caused* by the vaccine, and I understand that this mortality rate is even lower than 1 per 3-4 million doses. From the side effect of myocarditis, it seems to be closer to 1 per 500 million doses. Pharmacovigilance data from the European Medicines Agency (EMA) confirms that deaths directly caused by mRNA vaccines are "extremely rare". For example, out of more than 1 billion doses in the EU, confirmed causal deaths are about 1 per 100 million doses. This is so rare that it is difficult to detect statistically. So, large peer-reviewed studies (e.g. in the UK, Denmark, Israel and the USA) have found no increase in all-cause mortality attributable to mRNA vaccination. Where deaths have occurred, they are almost always due to unrelated causes. - The tragedy is that many misinformed people (especially among the elderly) do not vaccinate, meaning that the anti-vaxx movement has led to a huge number of deaths. Misinformation on matters pertaining to health, kills.

Myocarditis is also a naturally occurring illness. Per https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9789728/, hospital mortality was six times higher in patients with myocarditis from Covid-19, from myocarditis in patients without Covid-19. Myocarditis as a result of the COVID-19 vaccines generally resolve with rest & over-the-counter pain meds, like Advil.

Is that what your concern is?? Innocent helpless human beings murdered?

As for the vaccines, some people don't get them because of the multiple other poisons in them. That is their business. But you are free to study it yourself and find the facts. The persons.who dont get vaccinated are often the healthiest persons around.

To save your life. You may want to look into this. Study the ingredients of vaccines.study the increased amount of persons who now have myocarditis, turbo cancer, ALS, etc..or who died suddenly.

As to God. Well God is Good. And God is over all. He keeps the sun shining on good and evil. The sun He made, on the earth He made, on the people He made, with the hearts He made. In the 80s republicans were convinced that reversing recordings of speech and putting it in records was capable of brainwashing people into becoming satanists. They actually had laws passed in several states requiring records to state on the front if they contained reversed audio. Judas Priest were taken to court for hidden messages in their records. (They won, obviously). This is the level of republican science. It’s just mental illness from top to bottom.

I think people are skeptical because they see the medical community ignoring the possibility of a link between the covid vaccine and myocarditis. My 20 year old pet sitter and her brother both contracted myocarditis after receiving the covid 19 vaccine, both were hospitalized for 4 and 5 days, and both of their doctors said it was not related to the vaccine, but could not say what caused it. Neither was sick or had any preexisting conditions. It's that type of dismissive attitude that makes people question doctors. Doubtful either case was reported to VAERS. And if failing to report a possible vaccine reaction is the norm, a link between harmful vaccines and vaccine injuries will never be established.

Yes. And the COVID vaccine increases one's risk of contracting myocarditis. And the fact that doctors dismiss a cause and effect between the two masks the seriousness of the dangers of the vaccine.

Expand full comment
Dianelos Georgoudis's avatar

Statistical mathematics explains why strange coincidences must happen in any large set. After billions of vaccine doses were given, it would be an anomaly, indeed a miracle, if strange coincidences *didn't* happen. As for the case you mention: We know for certain that the vast majority of cases of myocarditis are unrelated to the vaccine, simply because cases of myocarditis occurred before the vaccine was developed, and such cases continue to occur at virtually the same frequency. (Here's a question the senators should have asked that doctor in the hearing: "How frequent was myocarditis before the vaccine was developed, and how frequent is it now that the large proportion of Americans has been vaccinated?") But VAERS works, and has proven that in very rare cases the vaccine does cause myocarditis; this was only possible because it is a huge, specialised database implemented precisely for that reason. So VAERS detected that the vaccine causes myocarditis in about 1 in 50,000 cases among the young. Given how rare that is, the likelihood that *both* your pet sitter and her brother's cases were caused by the vaccine is virtually zero. In any case they should have asked their doctor the reason why she thinks their myocarditis was not caused by the vaccine. Perhaps the doctor would have pointed out another much more probable cause.

Expand full comment
Jenn Jones's avatar

Perhaps both their cases should have been reported to VAERS and neither doctor should have determined their cases were NOT caused by the vaccine because the doctors cannot know that for a fact. The underreporting of incidents after administration of the vaccine is possibly why people believe there are so few side effects. The Harvard Pilgrim Health Care study from 2011 revealed the incredible underreporting VAERS - “fewer than 1% of vaccine adverse events are reported”. The CDCs own tracking system picked up a huge amount of adverse events. The v-safe data shows that 33.1% of the people who got the vaccine suffered from a significant adverse event and 7.7% had to seek professional medical care. Not a good look for a “safe” vaccine.

Expand full comment
Dianelos Georgoudis's avatar

"The v-safe data shows that 33.1% of the people who got the vaccine suffered from a significant adverse event and 7.7% had to seek professional medical care."

Does this statement seem plausible to you? Surely you personally know many people who have taken the vaccine — did a third of them suffer from a "significant adverse effect"? In fact, the 33.1% figure refers to well-known and common side effects such as a sore arm, fatigue or headache. As for the 7.7% figure from v-safe, it relates to all medical contacts within one year of vaccination, whether or not they are related to the vaccination. I find it’s not at all surprising that around 7.7% of people contact a doctor at some point within a 12-month period.

I am sorry you have been misled to such a degree. Those who spread misinformation are usually fools who mean well. Though many of them earn money in various ways, including through clicks. Some make political careers by telling people titillating tales. However, the tragic consequence of misinformation is that some people die. Around 300 Americans die from Covid-19 every week. I understand that roughly 100 of these deaths could be prevented if everyone were up to date with the recommended vaccinations. In this sense, vaccine misinformation is killing 100 Americans every week.

Expand full comment
Jenn Jones's avatar

Yes, I know quite a few people who've suffered significant adverse events after the COVID gene therapy - including blood clots, debilitating headaches, repeated infections, extreme fatigue, loss of balance and coordination, POTS, myocarditis, pericarditis, and cancer, all within a few months of their second and third doses. VAERS reports in 2020 were 57,000 for all vaccines combined, and more than 1,000,000 in 2021. If you really take a look at the NNT for the COVID vaccine, there is no way you can justify mass vaccination, as more harm is done than good. I'm sorry you've been misled by big pharma and your government. If you choose to ignore the safety signals, you'll never see them.

Expand full comment
Dianelos Georgoudis's avatar

That's an old report from long before the pandemic. Anyway, underreporting happens though it mainly about trivial events such as reddening in the injection site. During the public health emergency of the covid-19 pandemic doctors are legally mandated to report adverse effects to VAERS, myocarditis is a potentially life threatening illness, and it is hard to imagine doctor taking the risk of not reporting it. In any case here is the basic problem: Whatever its defects, VAERS is the best source we have. You do understand that statements such as "my 20 year old pet sitter told me that she and her brother both contracted myocarditis after receiving the covid 19 vaccine" have no value. Yet people who read such statements may get worried enough and not vaccinate, thus putting their life in danger, especially if they are over 60 or suffer from some chronic illness (including obesity, hight blood pressure, or high blood sugar). The statistics of death certificates in dozens of countries prove beyond reasonable doubt that within the same group the unvaccinated are many times more likely to die if infected with covid-19. It is easy to forget that before mass vaccination there was a period where three thousand Americans were dying from covid-19 every day. Indeed by January 2021 covid-19 had become the leading cause of death in the US by a significant margin. Flash points such as in New York had increased death certificates by 8x.

Expand full comment
Jenn Jones's avatar

It's not "my 20 year old pet sitter told me that she and her brother both contracted myocarditis after receiving the covid 19 vaccine" - I know them. I know their family. I visited them in the hospital and brought them fresh pajamas. I spoke with their parents, I waited while the doctors ran test after test and scan after scan. And I prayed they got better. They now have to see cardiologists every year, and their physical activity is limited. And that's not the first vaccine injury I've witnessed. 15 years ago, my niece was hospitalized at 6 months old for 3 days after a vaccine injury. Her pediatrician recommended she never have another vaccine, which she has not. My husband's co-worker, who I've met and is a dedicated nurse, took her son to a routine doctor's visit 8 years ago when he was 2 years old, and he died at the doctors office after receiving routine vaccines. Does this scare people? Maybe, but it's the truth. And maybe people need to start taking a look the risk / benefit analysis for everything they choose to stick in themselves and their kids. Vaccines are not without risk, and that risk is far higher than the government or the pharmaceutical industry would like you to believe. And there are a lot of doctors who do not push vaccines on their patients, and are open and honest with them about the risks. The goal should be informed consent, and we are a long way from that.

All of you conspiracy believers were so offended at being told to wear masks to help protect your neighbors, or required to get a vaccine to protect yourselves & others; I wonder why you don’t seem to be concerned now when the doge tech bros have taken every tiny bit of information the govt has about you; your medical records from the VA or Medicare/Medicaid, your IRS/tax records for your entire life, SS info, banking info, EVERYTHING & they have no been given permission by the president you love, to feed that info to Palatir (owned by Peter Thiel) the biggest surveillance company there is; so they can develop complete dossiers on every one of us & track everything we do??? You're not thinking very deeply. First, you seem to think you are a mind reader. Sorry, none of us are. You don't know that commenters here aren't concerned about some of the administrations moves. Secondly, you're knocking "conspiracy believers"? WTF? If you aren't a conspiracy believer yourself, you can't be taken seriously. A conspiracy is 2 or more people making plans and trying to keep them secret. You think such activity never exists? What world does that not exist in? Not this one. As far as Trump, DeSantis was my preference, and of many here. We aren't all Trump nut-huggers. I love much of what Trump has been doing though, and I particularly love how he gets under the skin of leftists so badly. Can't call his opponents liberals, seems like true liberals are pretty much extinct. The blue side of the aisle is the most tyrannical faction this country has seen, ever. And knocking Christianity? It's not perfect, but whether its based on truth or not, it's clearly fostered the most free, prosperous, and benevolent societies ever. Tossing Christianity is what's caused the West to decline, more than any other single factor. Not perfect, riddled with corruption among its leaders like any institution, but still the best platform for building a decent society invented so far.

Sorry, but I do not agree. I believe in the separation of church & state as is set forth in our Constitution. People absolutely can be moral beings without any religion. Religion, be it Christianity, Islam, Hindu, almost always leads to the oppression of, & even murder of, those who do not accept that particular belief.

Explain why so-called Christians who back Trump, DeSantis, Haley, any Republican, seem to think that their belief system gives them the right to take jobs away from POC, women, & LGBT persons? That’s exactly what this authoritarian regime is doing. There’s nothing moral about that.

No, I’m not a mind reader, I just see what is being done, I see the actions taken. I see the verbal dehumanization of migrants; calling them vermin, animals, rapists, & murderers. It was, & is done to prepare the US population to not react when the cruelty began. The Republican voters were lied to, told that the govt was going after the criminals, the gang members, to make America “safe” again. What ICE, & the thugs they have recruited, are doing now is not arresting criminals, they are doing the “easy” stuff; grabbing 17 yr old children on their way to a volleyball game, nabbing people when they show up for a court hearing, attempting to do the right thing. They are despicable cowards & what they are doing is just wrong.

😂 Go ahead and think what you want. I WISH I was getting paid to be here! No, I'm just someone with a science degree who worked in a hospital during the early part of the pandemic. I saw with my own eyes the acuity of patients before and after the vaccine was widely available. We went from 30 year olds stroking out from COVID-19 clots and in respiratory emergencies, to the only people coming in seriously ill were the unvaccinated. All in less than a year. The vaccine was a miracle that I was praying would come before I got COVID from my patients. Some of my coworkers weren't so lucky. One was 28 and pregnant and got COVID before the vaccine. She ended up with permanent debilitating cardiomyopathy and can no longer work. You can rant and rave all you want. But it doesn't change the truth that vaccines save lives.

God bless Sen Johnson indeed!

I missed Dr McCullough congressional testimony. I found him at some point online.

I did see Dr Korey’s testimony before this same committee in 12/2020. The first sight I had of Dr Korey was after Sen Gary Peters had pulled the same kind of stunt that Dr McCullough called him out on in his testimony here. I think Sen Peters had gone so far as to have something published in NYT’s

(? not sure) meant for nothing more than to disparage him prior to testifying . It didn’t work as planned by Sen Peters. Dr Korey was hot under the collar.

Remember this time period. I personally felt as if I was in the midst of a horrific dream. I was looking around trying to figure out wth was happening w my country and the medical community that I had spent my life working in. I knew I wasn’t taking a vac, I had no idea of what was coming. I know many figured it out more quickly. Kudos to you. Kudos to all of us who are still upright and breathing after the past 4 years🙏

He called him out on his lies and imo Dr Korey was perplexed>exactly WTH was going on! Why was he, an extremely credentialed MD who traveled to DC to testify, being slandered by the then minority leader! It didn’t deter him from his testimony!!

Dr Korey came prepared to set up a study in conjunction with Broward Healthcare in FL who had 1 or maybe 2 Drs testifying as well. Having worked for what was then known as the North Broward Hospital District for 20+ yrs I was initially hopeful as that could have been an important study. But it was not to be. Thanks in no small part to Sen Peters plus all of the big pharma influence that we now know about.

Here’s the senate hearing!

I can’t believe it was still there. At the time the thumbnail didn’t have Sen Johnson on it, you can still see how it’s labeled now!!🤬

🤷‍♀️how it was labeled-@ the time l was surprised that it was A SENATE HEARING that was censored. Sorry to shout. Never Forget all of the 💩they put us through ✌️

I remember at the height of “covid” hospital staff witnessed “foreigners they have never seen before “ have access to the so called covid patients, even putting them on ventilators. Some staff even reported death by ventilator when these same foreigners turned up the power.

I guess deep state couldn’t find Americans that would purposely murder their own.

The hospital would receive $12,000 for every death certificate that listed COVID as cause of death. Hospital staff were trained to list COVID as COD if pt died with any covid like symptoms. Such as shortness of breath, cold, flu or weakness.’This gave incentive to murder by vax.

And death certificates that state “COD covid on ventilator hospitals would get a whopping $39000 per death certificate. This again was motive to ramp up the ventilator and explode the lungs.

All the time these deaths contributed to the fake “Covid caused”fatalities, part of the agenda by CDC and Fauchi.
