John, If you have not spent time reading and reflecting on Romans chapter 1 verse 16 through 32. I would strongly encourage you to do that. This section of Romans can explain everything. In short summary, it states that when man refuses to see the truth of God that is evident all around us and begins to worship the creature rather than the creator than ultimately God turns them over to the lists of their heart. This leads to literally the dishonoring of their own bodies, and to degraded passions, leading to exchanging the natural function of male and female, sexual relationship relationships. It states after we are turned over to degrading passions, we are turned over to a depraved mind. This is a methodical downhill slope with the ultimate result in a depraved mind. What do depraved minds do? There is a long list, but I will highlight several things, including wickedness, evil, murder, inventors of evil, unloving, unmerciful, and more importantly, lastly that “although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give Hardy approval to those who practice them“. This is exactly what you just described. We are now giving hardy approval to those who practice wickedness and evil deeds and murder. You could describe this as a psychopath, but I would say when a society as a whole rejects, the creator, the whole society ends up with a depraved mind. God help us.

yes, Romans 1 is a description of the collapsing downward judgment upon individuals or a city/nation that has given itself over to sinful delusions. Though his words do not necessarily show the bottom of the trough, its a clear presentation of the downward trajectory that one thing leads to something more and more worse. We can see this occuring in America as it has occuring in ever quickening pace since the 1980s. You can also see this as outlined in Torah in the curses outlined quite clearly in Deuteronomy 28—a whole laundry list of societal horrors.

Reliance on "the creator" is humans' unwillingness to confront the reality we continue to uncover. (Not to dismiss the helplessness of humans, that is; human arrogance is most certainly *not* the opposite of belief in God.) This reliance has worked very well for a lot of us (you), and for a while, and especially in the past, but it won't be anywhere enough to handle what's coming quite soon. Not by a large margin.

"Evil" is a word of magic that explains nothing, which is a big reason why it has won out every time. It will continue to do so if you keep listening to godmongers. I'd switch gears if I were you and start getting real.

Anti-Hip sounds like someone totally unfamiliar with Scripture. How unfortunate that the haters of Charlie Kirk are also unfamiliar with Scripture. They have no idea what a mess they are facing shortly, and that their evil God-hating deeds are accumulating daily, and will be presented to them at judgement... at which time they will be begging for mercy... and will NOT get mercy, because they showed no mercy. Some "religions" call it 'Karma', but God calls it "the Golden Rule", the second most important commandment given to men on Earth, ... "Love thy neighbour as thyself..." Those mocking God, Jesus, and Christians these days are in for a nasty and rude awakening. It is not that we are unable to snuff out their pitiful, anti-Christ lives in a mere moment... it IS THAT GOD PROHIBITS US FROM EXERCISING OUR ABILITIES IN THAT WAY. God says that vengeance IS HIS DOMAIN, and that He will repay. Anti-Hip is talking through the proverbial hat in ignorance of the knowledge of God, and His laws.

To be perfectly clear: Anti-Hip's statement (that ..."Reliance on "the creator" is humans' unwillingness to confront the reality we continue to uncover.") is patently false and foolish. We are not allowed, by the Word of God, to do what the haters of God do, it is not that we are unwilling. Many of us would like nothing better to show the evil grave dancers some harsh reality, but again, we are not allowed. God, our Creator, has that covered. It is one of the methods used by God to separate those who love Him from those who love evil, and He will indeed repay.

What is coming is prophesied to be the worst thing that ever happened in the history of the earth. So Jesus comes back, and burns the Earth, along with all the haters of Charlie Kirk, haters of God, haters of Jesus, and haters of those who rely on our Creator. We were instructed by the One who created us, to trust and rely upon our Creator.

I am calling you out on your false, pedestrian statement, Anti-Hip, you were saying...

"There is nothing that demonstrates Scripture is real", (end quote).

... It is abundantly clear that you have Not studied the Scriptures, Anthropology, Archeology, or History. Please, don't embarrass yourself with further comments demonstrating your ignorance of God's word. It is easy to determine your lack of knowledge in this area just by reading your words. Here is a simple, Google AI Overview summary of a real cold case detective's findings about evidence that shows the veracity of Scripture:

"Yes, the author of Cold-Case Christianity, J. Warner Wallace, is a former cold-case detective who argues for the reliability and validity of Scripture by applying his investigative techniques to the historical claims of the Gospels. He analyzes eyewitness testimony, checks for corroboration, and evaluates potential motives using established rules of evidence from criminal investigations, concluding that the evidence for the New Testament is compelling..."

I would recommend you hold your peace on this one Anti-Hip. Please, study more, philosophize less... for now.

Thanks for your comment constituting a mini book review of this book. I am persuaded by the internal coherence and consistency of The Bible. Lately, I have been exposed to arguments based on more external evidence which compare Islam/The Koran with Christianity/The Bible, specifically comparing how the growing discoveries in various disciplines of history, archeology etc have been accumulating more solid ground for The Bible while results from the same fields of study have been rather devastating to Islam. I do want to learn more about this.

I have spent many decades confronted by godmongering, and one of the most curious things I've about them is their predictions for pointing to *other* places where the supposed knowledge lies. They can never explain it themselves. I used to go to these other places (usually Bible passages), and Ive found that, frankly, if you don't already have stars in your eyes, they are either pedestrian or ambiguous gibberish.

This inability to transfer their supposed knowledge to a skeptic is a death blow to their persuasive ability to skeptics. In other words, the only people they are going to "persuade" are people who *already* have the same beliefs, or have some subconscious tendency to want to believe. So much for spreading "the good news".

Look, if your God was *actually* all-powerful, all-knowing, *and* all-loving, he'd never be having humans run this ridiculous gauntlet. We'd all be endowed with the ability and temperament to understand and believe in him, and live in peace happily ever after. But we don't, and the explanations for this I've found are beyond lame. Yes, the Bible is full of idiocies and contradictions. Give it up, and admit it's not rational.

Problem is, and the reason I'm bitching about it here, is that we are *woefully* unprepared to confront what's coming down the pike at us from unprecedented forces if large numbers of us continue to believe it's a biblical battle of good and evil.

I'm curious about you, Anti-Hip. You seem to sense intuitively that there is unprecedented trouble coming, which I agree with, and believe, based upon my own knowledge of Scripture, history, and current events. Yet, you claim to NOT UNDERSTAND the Bible, saying it is full of "idiocies and contradictions"... a statement which is entirely untrue. Either you have been deceived greatly by someone, or have not studied the Bible. Based upon your statements, which indicate you have not studied the Bible, It leads me to guess that you were abused, treated badly by someone who told you they were a Christian, and told you they knew what they were talking about. They obviously failed to convince you, the great skeptic.

There are two possibilities for this that I can see clearly... One is that you hate them so much, that you will never confess what they told you to be true. The other possibility is that you are the seed of Satan, to whom understanding of the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven is never given. The wicked will never understand.

There is a third possibility... that BECAUSE you are skeptical, unbelieving and full of doubt, God will not grant you understanding.

To receive understanding, you must ask God for it, doubting nothing. Doubters do not get their prayers answered, Anti-Hip.

Obviously, it is wrong to blame God for your own failure to understand. He says you have to ask Him for understanding.

The Bible is very understandable... but you also must study to show thyself approved. God tests the spirits in people, as He also instructs us to test the spirits. Some are evil, wicked and hurtful, others, when tested, prove to be filled with light, love, and kindness.

I am willing to address any contradictions you can find in the Bible, honestly, clearly, and without ambiguity, if you would like. Just name them, one by one.

Creation was corrupted a long time ago, Anti-Hip, and God has to fix it. So, He allows people to commit heresy, greed, malice, mockery, and all sorts of things, for the purpose of determining who loves Him. He said, that by following His commandments, doing them without question and without hesitation, that He knows who loves Him. That information becomes totally relevant on judgement day.

I would hazard a guess here, Anti-Hip, that the reason we are having this discussion is because Jesus is calling you, giving you one last chance to get right with God. The end is near, pray today for Jesus to save you from what you know is coming. I write to you in the name of Jesus, without whom nothing was made that is made. Do it while it is called TODAY. You were created by God, not monkey semen. It is wrong to deny God's great work.

The Bible describes God's creation of the world, all that is in it, and the devil's ploy at disrupting God's creation. God provided opportunities to His people to reform from the evil they bought into, but they, like you, turned their backs on God. So He punished them, over and again, yet they insisted upon despising God. Sound familiar Anti-Hip? God is easy to understand, if you are a parent, which God is... we were created in the image of God, and He says He is our Father. DNA is now known to differ slightly in every human... God says He knows how many hairs are on your head, and your thoughts, and everything about you. He would not be wasting my time trying to reach you, if He did not love you. Any Father wants His children to love him back... that's perfectly normal. It is not normal to hate your Father. Satan loves to cause divisions, and specializes in causing divisions. It is critically important to understand that God creates good AND evil... He creates everything, and uses evil men to accomplish things like judgement. That is why we are having so much trouble in the world... it is because many folks have denied God, and He is allowing the evil to happen for the purpose of punishing unbelievers. You, Anti-Hip, are actually helping the evil people by denying God, unwittingly becoming part of the current problem, and part of the answer to the problem of how to deal with that evil. God destroys the world again, this time by fire. Previously, the Earth was destroyed by water. The evidence is incontrovertible. I am a licensed Prospector, well acquainted with Geology, and can attest that all of the current formations on Earth were formed or changed by the Flood. God destroyed the unbelievers without mercy, as a potter would break all his lousy pottery and start over again. Evil corrupted the seed of man, and God had to fix it. Well, it's been done again, Anti-Hip, and God has to fix it. The Bible describes how and why, clearly.

At an early age you were abused or felt abused by those that placed you in terror, in great fear, that you were going to suffer a place they described as hell. That is horrible.

Traumatizing kids with belief is way out of bounds and has nothing to do with the faith. Who were the people who did this to you? (I do not believe it was anyone on this thread, and it was not I. So no need to swear at us or make accusations.)

And to clarify, I do not have contempt for you. But I am calling you out for inappropriately addressing others.

Whoever abused you did great harm. They closed doors that you may have otherwise wanted to open and investigate. That is sad, and perhaps there is nothing to be done about that. However, misdirecting your upset toward those who had nothing to do with your situation is not cool.

I would have a civil conversation with you, but I fear your hurt and anger prevent that outcome. You might find I know more about what is wrong with certain approaches to faith, bad theology, if you will. But I cannot even get to that if you are cursing and accusing. First we need to address what happened to you.

Classical philosophy is a dead end trap for the mind that was created by God, to serve Him, not to serve the creation more than the Creator. "Ask, and it shall be given, seek, and ye shall find"... those words are meant for you, Anti-Hip, spoken by Jesus. God has no respect for sluggards who are too lazy to seek His counsel, and doubters can expect nothing from God. Fear of the Lord is the BEGINNING of knowledge, Anti-Hip. Wisdom is impossible to attain without knowledge, and true knowledge cannot be realized without confessing God. You have boxed yourself into a proverbial corner, speaking without wisdom. The people that hate God are practicing fake knowledge, producing fake news, fake history, fake philosophy, fake vaccines, fake food, fake culture... fake everything. Jesus said... "I am the way, the truth and the life. No man cometh to the Father but by me". He said that because He was given all the power of God, among men, to save His people. There are people that are not the children of God... they are evil, and will not be saved. Evil is what our battle is against. Evil is all that is not true.

"were you created by God, or did you come from the spawn of a monkey?"

(1) (Note, the two clauses are not contradictory, so both could be assigned 'true', i.e. inclusive 'or'.)

(2) (Note, I do not know either. In fact, I know nothing; I only believe. I believe that is true of all humans.)

(3) I believe evolution (broadly speaking) provides the most comprehensive and plausible of source explanations. There are many recognized gaps in evolution theories, and there are many failures in current evolution theories yet to be uncovered, but that doesn't diminish my first claim a whit, as there is no other class of explanations that do better or even approach it.

(4) I believe "created by God" simply avoids answering the question, and, at least in my experience, doesn't even attempt to bridge the gap for skeptics by meeting them where they are at. So I believe the insult is best ignored rather than entertained.

(5) "who were your [ancient(?)] ancestors? And who were their ancestors? If God did not create you, the great skeptic, how are you here today, in this world, denying that evil exists? ... Do monkeys also deny God?" I don't know, and I don't worry about any of those things, because they are much less interesting to me than a great many other questions. In particular (for its relevance here), a proof of God's existence that works on skeptics. Because it seems to me the point of evangelizing.

Hope that helps.

Your reply helps alright... it helps me to understand that you are a 'bloviator'. I asked the questions of you for the purpose of determining what you believe. It is evident that you actually believe nothing, which you've defended preemptively by retreating behind "I do not know"... Well, if you do not know, then you should remain silent about commenting on God. Despising "god-mongers" is seemingly good sport to you, but the problem it that doing so delineates your true ignorance.

I can tell you definitively, ANTI-HIP, that you did not form from the spawn of a monkey. You were created by God. You have unique DNA, there is no one in the world that has identical DNA to yours... therefore, you are special to God.

Obviously, the Holy Spirit of God has moved me to tolerate your disbelief in God, probably for one last chance to accept the FACT that everyone dies, but some have everlasting life.

You have a choice... continue to deny your Creator, and go to eternal death in hell, or choose life, and accept that Jesus was in fact murdered on the cross by other unbelievers, to pay the price of your redemption.

The answer you provide to my previous questions are unacceptable, and evidence of your intransigence. I have no interest whatsoever in playing juvenile word games, ANTI-HIP, and I see that you prefer to trust lies rather than truth. ( You mentioned you are leaning toward evolution rather than Creation).

Have you heard of 'Irreducible Complexity'? Essentially, with the advent of super microscopes, it is possible to see deeply into the innermost workings of the human cells. It is found that the ATP cycle is dependent upon three or four fundamental components, lacking which, there cannot be life.

The design is obvious, it is like a factory, producing energy, and without even one of the components, evolution CANNOT happen. The argument is that without this cycle, life cannot exist. Without life, evolution is impossible. Therefore, creation is the only possibility for the origins of life. Darwin, in his work, did not address this issue, nor did he know anything about DNA.

Darwin was a fraud. Not the only one, there are many these days, and we are warned, by the word of God, to be mindful of them. Most "fact-checkers" actually are paid to spin the truth, and were popularized during the Covid Fraud.

The point of all this of course, is to determine if you are justified in denying God, mocking believers, and supporting fraudulent theories.

I will leave you at this juncture to engage in some self-examination, to consider whether you are intellectually honest, or not. (Your last reply was considered to be disingenuous.) If there was in fact Creation, then there is a Creator. If there is a Creator, He made you, and myself, and all others, all things, and is all powerful, all knowing... yet you question His methods in allowing evil to propagate, for example. The Bible explains that God uses evil men to accomplish His will, as well as good men, to accomplish His will. He also gives us a choice to love Him, or despise Him, and treats us accordingly, as per His 'Golden Rule". How do you wish to be treated, ANTI-HIP... ? He also will judge us accordingly... just as your 'abuser' tried to warn you years ago, "shoving the truth down your throat". I write to you in Jesus' precious name, who obviously is calling you. He loves you, and does not want you to lose out on eternal life with Him through intransigent, pig-headed stubbornness on your part. Pray to God, in Jesus name, and ask for understanding. Well you if you don’t like the word evil you can pick another descriptor. Regardless of the descriptor you know that what happened was horrible, deplorable, wrong, etc. “Evil” is self evident but I would agree that it’s not any one’s individual opinion that determines what is evil, as all of our opinions carry the same weight. For evil to be recognized there has to be transcendent standards outside of us where good, holiness, righteousness, is displayed. That certainly is not modeled by us as human beings. Ask yourself why did the assassination of Kirk not turn into burning cities to the ground but instead to prayer vigils? Because the people who loved Charlie are different. Why? That 2000 year old book has been around a really long time I would say. Must be something really unique about it. It has more manuscripts to determine its authenticity than any of the classics. And I would say that its message transforms lives. As humans, with our hubris, who have only been around say a few decades probably should humble ourselves and perhaps learn from that book. It actually says that it is a fool who says there is no God.

Well, I understand may have more copies, I don't see how copies determine authenticity. Aren't the oldest known copies (of New Testament, anyway) tiny fragments, and decades after the events it describes?

Also I understand has quite limited cross-references between alien texts (e.g. contemporary Roman historians talking about Jesus). That would seem to be very important to have confirming evidence.

If the Old Testament that tells us the Jews will inherit the Earth had appeared, after being planted by God, of course, simultaneously in, but uncovered in archeology digs in, say, present-day Chile, Australia, China, etc. that would be pretty good evidence that Jews were chosen by God to do so. Oddly, though, this document appointing Jews was given to the world by, well ... Jews. Hmmm. I think "I'm stupid, but I'm not that stupid" kind of gets at that.

Demonic possession is often mistaken for mental illness, and is in many cases a better explanation. Even John himself uses the term “possession“ to describe what he sees, though he frames it in psychological rather than spiritual terms.

But what we’re seeing isn’t sickness, it’s evil. The people celebrating Charlie’s murder relish in its gore precisely because they want to bathe themselves in depravity. It’s not that they don’t care about evil, it’s that they revel in it. They are consumed with bloodlust, salivating over the anticipation of their next kill.

We’re not going to address this problem properly if we continue using half measures. We need to stop framing sin as sickness. This is not curable with a pill or a therapist. Some of these people are, of course, indoctrinated and could conceivably be deprogrammed, but the depth of evil we are witnessing is something far beyond the reach of psychology and psychiatry. The kind of salvation that’s needed here is offered only by Jesus Christ.

As I took the time to reflect on this reply, I realized I needed to clarify a few things:

1. The evil we're witnessing may be unique to our experience, but it's by no means unique to the human experience. In fact, it's arguably closer to the rule than the exception.

2. I don't want to over-diagnose possession. There is surely plenty of blame to go around given the compounding effects of such things as youthful ignorance and arrogance, the impact of psychiatric drugs, the indoctrination in schools, etc.

3. This piece is well thought-out and deserved more respect than my stream-of-consciousness reply. Apologies to John, who could easily have eviscerated me but chose not to. Thank you.

What I did mean to say was that our modern view of reality rejects the spiritual realm and thus is forced to fit everything it observes into the mould of materialism. Spiritual activity, whether good or evil, must ultimately be explained by forces that can handled, quantified, and comprehended.

As a Christian, I reject that as nothing more than an atheist fantasy designed to muzzle a screaming conscience. Communing with spirits/demons has been a staple of various cultures and many religions throughout history, and if we accept the spiritual realm as part of reality (indeed, it is the ultimate reality), then we cannot write off its effect on this world.

Is every leftist inhabited by demons? Of course not. I even chuckled while writing that because it's ridiculous, but leftism is a regimented ideology in which the beliefs of those at the bottom are determined by the influence and diktats of those at the top. If certain key players dabbled in the occult, that would be enough to at least exert demonic influence over millions worldwide.

But we can plainly see that many leftist foot soldiers so hate God and all things derived from Him that they would openly welcome demonic possession. How widespread it is, I can't possibly say, but I'm firmly convinced that it's in the driver's seat.

I hope that sufficiently clarifies my clunky post from earlier. Thanks for bearing with me.

There is just "normal" and "abnormal" psychology as decided ultimately by some "panel of experts" (DSM) or by so-called "community standards". Thank you John (and Carl Jung) so much for this sobering piece.

I remain so broken hearted, confused and distraught for his family and our nation, especially the youth, at this heinous cowardly act and the subsequent jubilation from so many. Of all the people to assassinate, this monster chose the one man who always sought civil discourse. What not sign up to ask him your question? Instead this coward just murdered him to shut him up. Here is what I am experiencing, and it makes me physically sick and uncertain how to proceed.

Many of my lifelong friends and family still believe the vax is "safe and effective"- need I say more? This same bunch NEVER mentioned the attempted assassinations on President Trump. I knew they were thrilled. I now cannot even mention the Charlie Kirk tragedy, which is so on my heart and mind, because I fear they will come out with some asinine demonic comment and I simply cannot take hearing it.

YET, I do continue to walk the thin sad line of trying to keep lifelong friends and family close. and connected. I am part of a huge network of family and friends and I am unwilling to become a bitter island. But to do this I must self censor which is horrible and unlike me. BUT I am desperate to see my precious grandchildren.

But it is so hard to witness what is happening to our culture and to people I thought I knew.

The things Charlie advocated and supported are the very ideals I grew up with and most others of the 1940s. 1950s and even the 60s- family, faith in God, commitment, civil discourse, striving to do your best, love and acceptance....it all seems gone now. Thanks for this troubling but true piece.

Yes...I am in that position. I consciously CHOSE to sacrifice my relationships with them because that is the only way I could show my love in this horrible dilemma. It was planned thus. The parents got "jabbed" so they could still earn and the grandparents so they were not jettisoned from the family. I decided for vocal dissonance and dispassionate rejection of the entire fraud. So the obvious occurred. I have not seen one daughter or her two sons for over two years. So be it. I do not consent. But thankfully--that is a small price in the larger picture. My conscience is clear. I am saddened for what was done to them. There was no pandemic as most now know.

Expand full comment
Kathleen Nathan's avatar

Every adult in my family--jabbed except myself. Horrifying to realize this was long planned and they were simply tricked and terrorized into it...there was no "pandemic"...so the jab is totally unrelated to health. Analysts have stated there were about 2O different versions....some extremely toxic and others harmless. Created to cause "cognitive dissonance" and distrust among the survivors while actually killing and injuring many. Look at all the doctors and nurses who perished in one are of Canada...documented by Dr. William Makis of covidintel...I think it was close to a 1OO or more in one small area. In others the damage is longterm. I refused it...but every single night I hear my jabbed husband moaning and struggling in his sleep. In the past he never did that. He has acquired guillaine barre syndrome and has trouble holding his silverware. He believes this is just the result of aging....There is no proof one way or another. Others in our apartment complex got cancer or had strokes or simply died. There was no "pandemic"...so the point of this injection was malevolent harm. There is no other explanation. Were Trump and Biden in on this attack? It would appear so....Now this toxic "vaccine" is being injected into infants and small children....Some say the european royals were injected as well. I have my doubts on that. I remember Pricilla Presley made a video and did a song about her "vaccination. I think she died. Not sure on that....How amazing that this untested product had no ingredient list so no one even knows the contents. Researcher Craig Paardekooper in the UK has stated there were about 2O versions. Reiner Fuellmich--a renowned tort attorney who presided over high profile fraud cases in the past-- was coordinating a wide area analysis of the "jab" when he was "arrested" for tax fraud and illegally deported to a German prison...where he remains to this day.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (Eph 6:11-12). I am a frequent and harsh critic of eugenicists. Often citing Buck v. Bell, the notorious "Three generations of imbeciles is enough" 8-1 SCOTUS ruling a century ago. Raised as a thought-provoking defense at the Nuremberg Trials, "you said it was good policy, what's the big deal?"

In many ways what you describe would support the words of Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes. But there is more to it. It was under that premise that the 'asocials' were targeted by the Third Reich in the eugenics cleansing of Germany and Europe. Incarcerated, experimented on and 'euthanized,' i.e. mass murdered.

And what qualified as 'asocial?' Political opponents of the regime. The disobedient and insolent. The profane and defiant. A Charlie Kirk would be deemed 'asocial' for challenging authority, official narratives, even in the mildest of ways, just the same as his transtifa haters spewing toxic filth.

The problem with eugenics, the practice of 'fixing' the gene pool for public safety and harmony is who gets to decide the desirables vs the undesirables? And as with most things, wealth, power, connections become the largest determinant. A psychopathic sociopathic billionaire or others in high positions will never become a target to 'cleanse.' No matter how 'asocial' they are. I.e. the Jasmine Crockett's: offensive, profane, insolent...and wealthy, powerful. Those who would kill millions would never be deemed 'asocial' while those who would merely be offensive in speech and manner could be jailed or executed.

So this is a debate over perilous underpinnings of our society and our humanity. I don't have a clear answer, only a heightened sensitivity to it based on a fair amount of reading human history, psychology, law, philosophy, ethics and power dynamics. Tread carefully.

This will work for many. Most we see is the result of conditioning, not genetics. The nurture v. nature debate. The number of genetically suspect minds is blessedly small. The number of environmentally polluted minds is tragically large.

We have some industrial polluters pumping filth into our most precious natural resource. It's the sources of pollution that we must clean up.
