After all the exposure in recent years of the simulated reality that has been imposed on us from the Controligarchs using carefully crafted false narratives, some of which have been cultivated for many decades, I’m not sure I believe(any longer) the El Niño/La Nina storyline. Perhaps it is true, perhaps it isn’t.

We must all recognize that most of our so-called knowledge of science is based on Type II Knowledge. Type II Knowledge is defined as ostensible knowledge gained by listening to someone say something(or more often reading what they wrote) and simply choosing to believe it. This is not real knowledge. Real knowledge is Type One. Type I knowledge is gained by doing the work. A good example is a nurse friend of mine who recently retired after a 43 year career as an ICU nurse in a major metropolitan hospital. She is bursting with Type I knowledge regarding acute and critical patient care. During her career she had to deal with an endless stream of young doctors and nurses who came waltzing in to the ICU simply bursting with Type II knowledge.

Often her reaction and response went something like this: “You do that doc, and you will kill the patient”.

Good. Bring it, John. How about that $5,000 Trump Dividend?

Election bribery? Never thought I'd see the day. But the Dems have already done it twice here in Maine, but they call it a 'budget surplus' of course. Yeah right

never gonna happen. better to take that "money" and make a payment on the debt but that will never happen either. we've coasted on the petro dollar. I wonder how many stupid wars we'll initiate to try to keep it when it would have been better and cheaper to use our unearned status responsibly.

We've all had a hand in the drunken, wanton behavior. Not only the leaders, it's also WE THE PEOPLE.

I'm very sorry this will happen.

Inflation is monetary; it's issuance of more currency without concomitant production of goods. The current energy price rise is both temporary reduction in availability and speculation; it is not inflation as you traditionally understand it. Once supply chain resumes equilibirum, expect prices to drop significantly. It was only last year that oil was projected to be around $70-ish. Lay that place mat on the table as baseline global settled price and then ask why it would persist more than 1-2 yrs above 100.

Cost of living is energy availability. Short of BBB idiocy and Germany's autoimmolation, there was no impending shock or crisis.

You have badgered Trump mercilessly, but he has now brought Venezuela likely back from the Dark Ages and that could be an excellent cinderella story in a few years. Know any Venezuelans? They love what has happened and are hopeful of normalcy again. If so, western oil economies look to improve markedly long term.

Russia is likely going to fit hand in glove with a harmonious oil/LNG outcome in the upcoming years. OPEC has been reduced in potency. Iran has been gored, whether you see it or refute it. The Hormuz Choke has now been largely neutered for eternity, as planning and capital have been put into action to write it out of future global risk scenarios. That was a case of start-up risk; no one wanted to go through the fever of fixing that problem. Trump hit it head on, now there's fever...and it will break in due course, patient back up and on the playground someday with no more thoughts of the old illness.

Yes, US Govt is run by idiots. Yes, open borders and illegal voting is harmful. Yes, those are paths to ruin. But, if you follow Trump's lead, he is about the only postive US force in action today to ward off the bad and restore the good.

Best you join the team and root for your side rather than heckle them.

Just curious: What empirical data would make you nervous that your all-knowing leader is not leading you in the right direction? Are there any indicators that would make you nervous? Some guys who work in construction get nervous when it costs $400 instead of $200 to fill their heavy duty diesel trucks. They conclude they can't go to their favorite restaurant every Friday as was habit. At what point does the restaurant owner get nervous? Temporary shocks are one thing, but what is happening now does not appear likely to be temporary

By all-knowing leader you refer back-handedly to Trump, but you would not be able to authentically describe a president in your lifetime as all-knowing. So, why the courtesy?

That aside, to your point: Trump's primary objective is return of manufacturing to the USA. Do you agree?

By placing industry in the USA, the regular citizen has employment prospects. By tariffing, Trump charges the world for their access to one of the world's premier marketplaces. That combination keeps the baseline economy in sustainment mode to ebb and flow with global currents over time. That is a good, healthy objective, agreed?

High diesel prices are a function of crude availability and refining capacity as well as logistics and hurdles therein. Reserves exist. Refining capacity is increasingly inadequate and neglected; thise are intermediate duration. Logistics hurdles are temporary.

So, a world that needs diesel will deploy capital according to the intensity of risk. Spikes will occur, but long term they will dissipate so long as capital can earn a return on the prospects of fulfilling the demand.

Does that satisfy, or is there more to say?

Trump is not the guilty party w/r/t refining. Temporary logistics hurdles, yes. Temporary. Look to the outcome of what changes are in process, though. If the end result is a more robust and efficient energy supply chain, is that a bad outcome of Trump's actions?

I agree, the big picture matters. Thank you for your respectful comment, evergreen.

Governments aren't worried. Lots of private funds and savings around, waiting to be plundered through inflation. They will ruin fiat to the last penny before admitting any mistakes.

what the heck does the El Nino have to do with the unsustainable spending in DC and every other Western Country ? Your losing your mind John get back to focusing on the medical issues. There is going to be a massive financial correction someday but its not going to happen in your lifetime they will print more and more faux money more than we can comprehend, There isn't any politician in DC or any other Western capital that is every going to cut spending because to do so means they lose their power, Heck here some DC Judge would rule that Congress doesn't have the power to cut spending if they even tried too.

El Nino's come and go and the world continues in spite of the fear mongering that everyone in the climate change fraud claims. El Nino's have only recently been recognized by science but they existed long before humans were aware of them so what makes you think its never been worse before now? That's right you have no idea of they haven't been worse.

John Leake's avatar

El Ninos come and go, and they place demands on energy and agriculture when they come. I referenced the El Nino as an additional stressor piling on to stressful circumstances. Why do you believe that the central powers that brought us Covid are now doing a great job in the matter of war?

Flash Gordon's avatar

You chose to focus on the weather which just plays right into globalists hands. Great job. The weather itself is not the problem. Humans building homes on the sides of mountains and on beaches is the issue but not once have I ever heard a journalist or scientist come out and state the obvious: The weather will always throw extremes at humanity. Stop building homes in places that cannot handle these extremese. If you do, don't come crying to the government or insurance for a bailout or expect any sympathy from your fellow man. You made your bed. Float in it.

It begs the question as to why these <cough> 'leaders' are even IN power!

And the answer to THAT question is.....because AmeriKans/'The West' BEHAVE AS CHILDREN; the majority are MENTALLY STUNTED to that of a 3 year old.....a retarded 3 year old, at that! One that will NEVER reach ADULTHOOD!!

They actually ARE drunk trust funders with a cocaine habit.

The positive side of this is that if you have housing debt, and maybe a few rent houses, the inflation will likely help you. Given the borrow and die strategy that so many trust funders and capitalists use, they likely (as Trump directly said) like inflation and are purposefully causing it. Use it to your advantage while you can. Deflation comes next. No one escapes deflation.
