It was only ever about mass injection of humanity for a global depopulation event. The Malthusians and Eugenicists across 100+ years of world regimes and Presidential Administrations put everything into place with regulations, legislation, and ‘societal norms’ acceptance. Then the time was right in 2019/2020 to launch the plandemic in order to ‘mass vaccinate’ the unsuspecting public. The recent/current global leaders spoke & worked in locked step in order to cull the human race. IMHO, that about sums it up. Nothing I’ve witnessed, researched, or read since late 2019 can convince me otherwise.
Not sure what you read about vaccine purchases in 2020. On Feb 26, 2020, Moderna filed a document with the Securities Exchange Commission. In it was the following:
"• Novel coronavirus (SARS CoV-2) vaccine (mRNA-1273): The first clinical-grade batch of mRNA-1273 has been shipped from Moderna facility to the NIH for use in a Phase 1 study in the U.S. mRNA-1273 was delivered from the Company’s cGMP facility in 42 days from sequence selection. NIH plans to conduct the Phase 1 clinical trial in the U.S. There is no approved vaccine for novel coronavirus."
That means they were already evaluating a new vaccine weeks before Operation Warp Speed was created.

I watched Contagion in late 2020. While I was watching it, I just kept shaking my head thinking, wow, people are so easily brainwashed by Hollywood films. And then I began to understand why people were acting so foolishly.
Since then, my eyes have been opened about numerous things that I once believed due to this kind of brainwashing/programming. Especially military and patriotic themes. NASA. Pharmaceuticals. There are so many. Once you see the tools they use, it's difficult to unsee them.
There is hardly ever one reason to explain anything, and so while lockdowns and masks served to prevent widespread immunity, the "containment " policies also were useful as a tactic to defeat Donald Trump in the 2020 election and give monsters the space they needed to experiment with a novel platform- gene therapy.
"There is hardly ever one reason to explain anything" -- this is a necessary insight which I think not enough people have integrated. Many people don't encounter the group decision making process, and particularly not how the group handles decision after decision over a span of time. People assume that everyone in the group comes to the same conclusions and that they all have to have the same reason or else they won't agree to move forward.
I think that intentional obfuscators will use a variation on this, to "debunk" conspiracy suspicions. Such a malevolent actor or useful idiot may say something like, "oh so everyone from the pharmaceutical research to the government to the media all got together because they want to do __ to you? What a ___ you are, that's ___!"
Of course as you point out that's just not how things work. Anyone who's pitched an idea to a team knows that everyone on the team will have their own ideas about what is important. Most people's ideas, of what's in it for them, are going to be a little bit unique to each person, in the idea itself or in its relative weighting. As long as the pitching team (or person) has a good idea of the key players' particular sense of things, the pitching team/person doesn't need to reveal their own purposes. As things go along, some people might turn out to be fellow travelers, but all that's needed for any malicious project to work, is for people to have their own enthusiasm or interest, all down the line.
Some people are better than others at chessboard strategy, too. They might also be connected enough to get someone to advocate on their behalf. Conspiracy definitely doesn't require everyone to be "in on it". I have seen this even in small companies, when persistent and clever individuals have shoved their own goals into the company's goals, without really triggering the reviews that should be done.
My professional life has been teaching American history and one precept of "doing" history is that there is no such thing as monocausation, for all the reasons you point out. Many interests had a stake in steering covid policies.

Viruses do not exist only poisons
Please re-educate yourself. Without viruses in the environment, human life would be very difficult, if not impossible. There are far more "friendly" viruses than dangerous to humans. All plant and animal life depends on them; they are simply packets of data that communicate with biological cells, giving instructions to accomplish certain life-maintaining missions.
One example is marine viruses, which infect and break down ocean microbes. The process releases carbon and nutrients back into the water, which feeds other sea life.
Another is bacteriophage viruses, which reproduce in bacteria; they are called bacteria eaters. Without them, bacteria would overproduce and create a hostile environment for all life. They are the most common biological units on Earth and live everywhere bacteria are found, such as in soil, water, and the human body.
This nonsense about viruses not existing is in the same category as a flat-earth belief.
Everything is a cycle in life, and viruses play a critical role, just as bacteria do.
I live according the belief that viruses don't exist. Peoples' sniffles don't bother me, and I kiss my wife on the mouth when she has them. I have never bought a bottle of hand sanitizer in my life and never wore a mask. Before I met my wife, during the lockdowns I drove around looking to meet women. My only requirement, besides attractiveness to me, was they couldn't be wearing a mask. Not having any problems at all.

The only problem with the spreading pathogen presupposition is that there's no evidence of a spreading pathogen. It was just a narrative driven by TDS, bolstered with fake numbers and media-hyped hysteria. It was a scheme to transfer wealth from the people to the elites and to accomplish the goals of Agenda 21. Multiple reasons as we all know

And you see people forgetting all around you now, and a whole generation who doesn't appreciate that organic nutrient dense food, activity, community, and access to nature is really all we need. I believe the scam of Covid was in the works for many years prior, first brainwashing using propaganda of vaccines preventing everything as a delusion to use a bioweapon to injure and kill populations. They used trust, fear, huge lies and deceptions towards their plan of destruction. It’s beyond normal comprehension that this would happen, but we were used to commit mass depopulation! I’m not sure what the total of Covid jab bioweapon deaths are as I heard many estimates from 22M to Billions. And let’s not forget the immense amount of jab injuries people are living with. More to come! Many are totally unaware it was intentionally done to them. There’s lots of proof, no indictments or prosecutions I know of. The entire event is infuriating! We deserve so much better. The deaths and disabilities are off the charts. The number of canes, walkers and wheelchairs is what I notice. and you can tell by age and clothes that these people are newly-disabled. And everyday, multiple well-known people are reported dead in the news. Dolly Parton dies and at the same time Lionel Ritchie and Earth, Wind & Fire's drummer are hospitalized for heart issues. At least famous people have died from medical events underwater while swimming. Two actors have died from crashing cars into houses. Christian Eriksen went down on the field around the same time Damar Hamlin did. Those who can't see all this choose not to. Soon the vax will deliver the deaths the hoax didn't.
