PSALM 23 as an activist’s psalm, applying it to someone resisting bureaucratic overreach, communism, or authoritarianism in Canada (or anywhere). Each verse is a reminder that the fight is not carried alone, but under God’s law and protection.

1. “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”

• For the activist: God is your true leader, not politicians, bureaucrats, or corrupt courts. He supplies what you need — strength, clarity, courage — even when the state withholds resources. You are not dependent on government handouts or “permissions.”

2. “He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.”

• In the struggle: Even in chaos, God provides rest and peace. Activists often burn out, but God restores balance and keeps you grounded. “Green pastures” are spaces of freedom; “still waters” are inner calm despite the storm of propaganda and intimidation.

3. “He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.”

• For those weary of injustice: God revives your spirit when despair creeps in. He reminds you that the path of truth and justice is not your idea — it is His. Fighting tyranny is not just political; it is righteous work done in God’s name.

4. “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.”

• This is the activist’s battlefield: raids, unlawful arrests, intimidation, jail cells. The “valley of the shadow of death” is walking under the state’s threats. Yet there is no fear: God’s rod (justice) and staff (guidance) protect you. Tyranny cannot break your spirit.

5. “Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.”

• Even when enemies — corrupt officials, media smear campaigns, bureaucrats — surround you, God sets a feast of abundance and victory. Oil is anointing, meaning your cause is holy. The overflowing cup is courage and truth spilling over, more than enough to inspire others.

6. “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.”

• The state cannot write the final chapter. No matter how dark things get, goodness and mercy follow you — because history belongs to God, not tyrants. While regimes fall, God’s house stands forever, and your fight has eternal meaning.

In short for activists:

Psalm 23 isn’t about passive comfort — it’s about fearless endurance. It reminds you that:

• You already have all you need.

• You will not be crushed by intimidation.

• God Himself blesses the cause of truth and freedom.

• Tyranny will pass, but His law endures forever.

I like this version of the well loved psalm and would welcome the opportunity to frame it for my wall so I can remind myself every time I hit a wall (as an armchair warrior) that this is the real truth. I tried to screenshot but could not get the full text. Is there a way I can access the full text for printing anywhere? Many thanks in advance

Amen. Keeping our eyes on the prize. We know that the world we currently live in is ruled by Satan. We had confirmation of that in Matthew 4:8-11, when Satan offers Jesus the kingdoms of the world and their glory in exchange for worship. Satan's claim of authority over these kingdoms is temporary, and later in Matthew 28:18 we see how Jesus demonstrates his commitment to God's will and his ultimate authority over the earth.

After my initial shock wore off and I was giving this some thought it reminded me of the old saying... keep your friends close and your enemies closer. If Pfizer is manufacturing in the U.S. then they will be subject to U.S. rules, regulations and inspections vs an overseas plant where they could do whatever they wanted with what seems to be zero quality control. I hope that was the main motivating factor with President Trump when he realized this monster was too big for him to slay. Because of grift and greed Big Pharma has almost every member of Congress in a choke hold squeezing them to squeeze the President. Not to mention the American Medical Association Cartel, aka Corporate Medicine standing by their lie "trust the science". I trust almost none of them now! The only thing that could pacify me right now is to see a Federal law making Ivermectin available OTC nationwide and a law prohibiting any mandated shots. If that doesn't doesn't happen and they want to give me or any of my grandchildren mandated mRNA shots, they better be coming with something besides a needle because I will vigorously resist!

This is the KEY. Eat whole foods, exercise, stay positive, ditch bad habits, avoid doctors, refuse prescription drugs. Live as well as you can. Make it your daily goal to be as well as you can be. There's no guarantees, but make it your goal to live naturally and die naturally after a long life, without being the victim of the medical system. If there's no demand for pharma products, the money will go elsewhere, hopefully for something that will truly help people. Prior to the 1960s when Medicare was enacted and health insurance became an industry, people lived more simply and took meds only for acute illness. Drugs weren't given out to be taken ongoing for the rest of your life. This is all a recent development in response to the awful engineered foods that are a ubiquitous part of our society now.

Here is what I take away from Trump. Bobby stood there and didn't disagree:

It is up to us, Americans to decide what to take, read labels, read inserts. Spread out all shots to 4 to 5 the time it normally took to get them. Be willing to drive to the doctor and find the time 4 or 5 times more (Trump and Ben carson in 2015). No Tylenol. Say No to hepatitis for children undef 12. If you want a vaccine you have a right to take it. We cannot prohibit if it is out there. Bourla will spend time trying to come up with other products for other problems and will do this in the US. We have lowered cost of pharmaceuticals for Medicaid. Hopefully for Medicare and others in the future from tariffs and supply and demand.

Hi Sharon! One thing I want to say is that we have to accept what we’re seeing. Instead of trying to rationalize it, another way is that, “hey, this is what it is.”

We are seeing evil done, so what we can do is take it for what it is.

This is why I say, there is a ruling class deep in the shadows. They are ones who control the world. They are the bad guys:

When he went bankrupt, he went to the Rockefellers and Rothschilds for money. That was long before his first term as POTUS, but it was when he sold his soul and became owned. I think he was coerced and made the best of a bad situation. DJT doesn't need money but the swamp creatures do and they cannot get enough, i.e. Princess Nancy, novice day trader extraordinaire. I think both sides of the aisle told him if he wanted their cooperation on anything he had to let them continue to suck at Big Pharma's ample teet. If you really think about it, if he concluded he was not able to bring Big Pharma to the foot of the cross, then the next best thing was to bring them into his sphere of influence and control under RFK's watchful eye.

As to why, in my opinion he is doing this because it gives him power where he had no power, as in his first term. Trump’s first term was a clinic in a Presidency without Power. All of the institutional and individual power(ie the Billionaires) was on the Left in Trump’s first term. And they hated Trump and put all their efforts into defeating him, using illegal and unethical means. Trump knows what that feels like on the most personal level. He knows what Power is, and he knows what lack of Power is, what it looks like and what it feels like. He never wants to go back to 2017 again, including when he leaves office. In my opinion that is why he is appeasing the Billionaires and the tech moguls and their institutions. They give him Power. This in no way excuses what he is doing, it is merely one explanation for why.

It seems he is supporting the wars. Giving Ukraine weapons and permission to use them is war whether you interpret it that way or not. Not stopping Netanyahu while he wipes out an entire people. And supporting that even when he says otherwise. Relabeling our military as the Dept of War which might be more correct regarding its function. But that means it’s function is war.

I believe Trump is now giving weapons to NATO rather than directly to Ukraine. Netanyahu is not ‘wiping out an entire people’, although frankly the 70% of people who actually supported October 7 may not be people I’d be interested in saving. And our Dept of ‘Defense’ has never been used for defense, so perhaps a bit of a reality check as to what our military is actually for??

Trump has his limits. First of all, he is not an idealist, he is a realist. He is not a king and cannot simply make edicts. He has to make compromises. It is just the nature of the beast.

Second, he's not free to sit around the Internet all day chasing every theory and doing deep dives into data. He has to make the best decisions he can with the data he has. He has to rely on his advisers AND his instincts. This brings me to point three. He's not good at choosing personnel but he does tend to hold people accountable over time. Some amount of patience is always required with him.

I just chastised him on Truth Social about dealing with Pfizer but, realistically, Pfizer makes a ton of drugs that lots of people need. Which are poison and which actually work? Not for Trump to say. He has to trust that eventually Kennedy and his reformers will work that out. For now, the best thing for the People is to get drug prices lowered across the board. This will help tens of millions of people and will also help get his successor elected.

I don't want us fighting on behalf of Israel but, again, is Israeli intelligence perhaps helping Trump root out the snakes in his own intelligence agencies? Is that the backroom deal he's working with Netanyahu in exchange for bombing Iran, an pretty awful regime no matter how you slice it? No idea but certainly a possibility. Also, Trump's now going hard core on Antifa and the breakaway republics, i.e. Washington, Oregon, California, Michigan and New York.

We all need to keep pushing Trump for more, keeping him informed through Truth Social directly, reminding him he's doing a good job but not a great job and recognizing that he is a transitional president, not a transformative one. Will Vance be transformative? Doubtful. DeSantis? Doubtful. This is the real threat that's on the horizon. It is quite likely that we look back in five years time and realize that Trump was peak MAGA when he really was only about 50% MAGA. That's a more disturbing issue in my opinion and MAGA/MAHA needs to seriously consider who is showing the courage to do anything near what Trump has done. It damn sure isn't Rand "micro-focus" Paul, Thomas "never Trumper" Massey, or Ron "no follow through" Johnson.

It's actually simple to slay the hydra: you need someone who is a pure singleton, a pure lone wolf, no family, health, or financial vulnerability, who simply doesn't give a damn and will tear it down one piece at a time, while exposing all of it directly to the people. The people, for their part, need to ignore the machinations of the hydra in their daily lives while at the same time being aware of its existence and supporting the lone wolf in its actions to take it out.

Trump was supposed to be that lone wolf, but he was a sheep in wolf's clothing. We're seeing that now. Some of us saw it all along. MAGAts do not.

I would have to agree, John about the incorrigibility of the Federal Government. However, to its credit, the government has found a solution to this conundrum: shut itself down! Now if only they could remain shut down, the American people could surely find a better solution to its government than what we have all grown sick and tired of, and now, many completely lost its patience with. I vote for permanent shut down!

Expand full comment
ForestDi56's avatar

There is purpose to this shut down and Trump is in the thick of that purpose. Lots of things can be rearranged during this time. Not just the clearing of people and departments or agencies he doesn’t like. A new monetary system could be reworked for one thing. Other liaisons we might not approve of. I wonder how RFK, Jr will respond. If at all. Lots of broken promises or implied promises seem to be happening.

I have been concerned about the loss of our Constitutional integrity. It’s as possible under Trump with his own vision (and possible head of state position in a different form) as it has been under any other administration. He thinks his path is better but only because it’s his. Not necessarily because it will be better for us.

John, what do you mean by dependence? Are you referring to those Americans whose jobs/income are related to the death complex (i.e., the military-intelligence monstrosity)? This puts one in mind of Eugene Jarecki's brilliant documentary "Why We Fight." From the very beginning of the American Empire's merchants of death machine, they ensured that death merchants would be located in every Congressional district of the country so that Americans would be dependent for their livelihood on global mass murder. There is only one word for this: evil.

Here's a link to the documentary, it should be required viewing of all Americans. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QnCm5pIt1EE
