Love it! Let's bring truckloads of that and Kurt's suggestion. I am now dedicated to bringing back "Retard".

I never stopped saying it so I’m ahead of the game here I think. Go me! Often it is fortuitous to simply ignore these little hysterical word plays for a few years and they go away. I tell people they are gay and a fag too. With much love to all my gay friends I rarely say it them because it wouldn’t be an insult. I’ve read somewhere recently that if you spend a lot of time insulting your friends and loved ones it makes them stronger, more confident and surer of themselves as they become inured to the jibing and let it roll off them (like normal people) instead of being instantly offended and upset. It smacked of truth.

Pushing buttons until they go flat is good. I do not use gay and fag. I prefer, "those that practice homosexuality". It is more to the actual point. It's a big button that takes lots of time to go flat if it ever does because it points out the reality that such persons have submitted to among the worst of aberrations. It's truly telling to see the reaction that pointing to homosexuality will elicit. May our heavenly Father guide them to this truth.

Throughout my career in human services I experienced the constant changing of words to not offend and more importantly to enact social agendas. One year the instructor told us the new term was "having mental retardation" because the condition was not immutable. I thought that guy was retarded, as most of them were.

John Leake, you are the perfect gentleman. I understand what you meant by 'retarded', and commend you on your charitable heart, going to all the trouble of writing some revision...suffering the woke, while still administering the truth faithfully. The word, 'RETARDED' as do many words, may have several meanings. Democrat followers are indeed retarded. I think I am partially retarded too, in some ways, and feel sorry for the mentally retarded, the physically retarded, the intellectually retarded, the spiritually retarded, the incorrect retardation of the timing in an old, poorly maintained engine's electrical ignition system, and the retarded chemical reaction in epoxy and other resins when the temperature is not correct. Poor Democrats...they are so fundamentally retarded that I can hardly retard my disdain for them. You are a fine example of a man, John Leake...I am still mentally reviewing your lecture in my minds eye...some of the scenes are blurred slightly, I am surmising the reason is cognitive/visual recall retardation secondary to trauma induced A.B.I. God bless you John Leake. Dont mind the Dems...they'll find something to complain about, while killing millions of people with their dystopian ideology. RETARDS.

We should never give in to not using a teen because it is offensive to some. Doing so leads (and unfortunately has led) to vocabulary erosion. Prisoners are prisoners. We should nor refer to them as 'people who are incarcerated' because it 'hurts their feelings' or more accurately, does not adhere to tge logic and inverted morals of the self-proclaimed 'compassionate' left. Eventually, vocabulary erosion leads to societal debasement, because: first, there is the Word.

Here is what to do: https://www.wildhorsewisdom.xyz/p/whats-in-a-name?utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web

Agreed. I refuse to refer to men like Rachel Levine as a she or her. He will always be a man irrespective of what he wears.

If we can't say words because there might be someone who's offended, soon we won't be able to say anything. But I don't necessarily fault John.

John is not at fault here. Since the Word comes first, society is a consequence of it. Banning words destroys society.

I truly enjoyed your response! It's rare, in today's world, to find someone so eloquent with the written word and with such a command of semantics. It was a work of art how you wove the many many nuances of the word retard. I would've loved to have had a chance to debate with you back in the day. God bless

Thank you for the kind compliment Rhoda. I think I would have fallen for you back in the day (when you surely would have whipped me in a debate). Smart girls are always in vogue Rhoda, and kind girls even more so. God bless you too.

I have a burning question: after all of the pope's recent illness and his lengthy hospital stay, aside from his many "pressing" duties, why, on maybe the most important holiday in the religious world, does the leader of said world, find the time to meet with a secular, political leader of any stripe??

Just play weird, OR, just another distraction.

I’m fairly sure the vice president of the united states isn’t just some nobody and I believe he happens to be a devout (if new) Catholic, recently baptized into the faith in 2019 which is something of a big deal.

John Leake - we retard or advance the rate of a clock and the ignition timing of a gasoline engine. I now suspect that the real reason for mass vaccination is not primarily to depopulate the world, kill off the old, make every body sick ( thereby gaining a lucrative captive market), create an unholy sacrament to the secular church of science; no, indeed, but rather, to make children as stupid as possible to amplify the impact of universal propaganda. I am convinced that you can see Vaccine Induced Stupidity in the eyes of half the children in any given classroom anywhere.

I am all for respecting the breadth of humanity in all their forms. Compassionate words are a start, but they need to be a launching point for compassionate action. Not as a cudgel. When actions don't follow the prescribed words, the words have to be changed again, the former now being weighed down by how many people behave poorly. The weighted attention to the latest PC vocabulary isn't a sign of progress, but of failure: it says that we need to pay more attention to what is in our hearts, and what we do--and put less weight on the latest fashion in virtue signaling.

There should be opportunity for "Community Notes" that highlight something like "Gross Journalistic Incompetence" to the poster and also maybe something like a dunce cap icon that sits next to your name for the next 30 days.

Never change your mind or what you believe to be the right choose of your own personal expression especially if it fits within the parameters and definition of what you are attempting to describe, convey and articulate. Just to please others because their feelings are hurts. Facts always over feelings.

I grew up in the 1970s and 80s. We all called our friends, enemies, classmates and siblings retarded, or retards for short, at least 10 times a day. Nobody died from it. Bring back 'retarded', I say!

John, thank you for this headline. I have had three incredibly full days without having time to do all that I am responsible for. While trying to figure out what I must accomplish in the next day or two, I just saw the headline of your piece and it brought me to tears and joyous laughing, almost near hysteria! Thank you for the title, I will sleep well tonight and I will actually read this piece before I fall asleep. I hope it won’t keep me awake.

“Retarded” is a perfectly fine word. Use it if you want. Years ago on Facebook I was told we dare not say “moron,” another perfectly fine word. I also like “tranny.” Anything at all just to annoy them.
