Then they would take the dozer push in any debris’s and leave. By the time the cops showed up they would be gone. They set up a special unit in the NYCBD, The BEST Squad and the cops to catch them doing this which eventually caught them in eighty nine or ninety. So developers loved this because it takes roughly a week to take each floor down and the developer, like a Silverstein is, loved it because they just took eight or ten weeks off their construction schedule. The thing is only old timers like Larry new what “pull it” ment and that was take it down fast. I know because I worked with Chris Schwab on some demo jobs, he was the Forman, and told me the first hand account of it all. Think the father ended up going to jail. Mean while he would always be saying to me let’s pull it to me jokingly I think.
