This happened to me when I took Bactrim for a UTI, and despite the fact it was diagnosed promptly, and I had taken only a few days worth and stopped it immediately, the rash persisted for almost 2 months before it resolved. This should be pointed out in your discussion, as this medication is not a good choice for some persons.

Because sometimes the drugs you're using to treat people can do more harm than a self limited diarrhoea illness. I have a severe sulfa allergy personally and have seen many disasters when certain healthcare "providers "
with less education prescribed this Willy- nilly to people with horrible renal function, and they end up in severe renal failure. And there's the moderate interactions with blood thinners and diabetic meds , HTN meds etc.
Of course there's some more rare conditions such as G6PD deficiency, etc..
I get a little concerned about allowing mass use of this medication without physician oversight.

Many people are allergic to sulfa drugs. They are not for everyone.
