Appreciate your writings of perspective related to recent and present political decisions and global events. While I agree with most, confused at some, at least the writings provoke thinking and research.

After leaning left-libertarian in my misspent youth, by the time I got old and figured out that I was a conservative, it was too late—there's hardly any sane conservatism left ; - )

Sometimes it feels like more of a to see people who have influenced our beleifs die than even close friends! Well, me and my wife have old school conservative beleifs in our heavily liberal Ontario Canada. We've been busy. If someone is a conservative right now they should be busy! Thankfully, we are seeing many our age flip to conservative values lately. What felt hopeless is now a fight and we know the stakes . Like the saying goes; "when the pendulum swings to far to one side..." hopefully there will be a huge correction and it will stabilize for a long time after people look back at the insanity going on! Cheers!

The demise of Conservatism was enabled by the education CYSTem that taught cultural marxism, then political correctness, then wokist wonkering and finally DIEverSH*Tty. John Dewey the progressive fool imposed what I dare say was idiotic progressiveness but the die was cast here when soft LIEBERALISM came on the scene with Lester Pearson I recall long ago John Diefenbaker and the fall of religions where apostacy was the trigger for mainline churches like the Anglican, United Church and others to embrace homosexuality and abortion and other LIEberal abominations. Today those denominations are mostly gone. Empty stone churches dot the landscape of small villages and burgs, as a testimonial to what happens when LIEberal idiocy infuses religion as a start and then eventually we see apostasy become the policy. I recall Ted Scott, PRIMATE of the Anglican Church and his BS statement that indicated his stupidity way back in my life when I was active in the fight for the Conservative creed but he said, "HOMOSEXUALITY IS A SOCIAL REALITY AND THEREFORE WE MUST LEARN TO NORMALIZE AND ACCEPT IT." I WROTE BACK IN THE LOCAL PAPER MY SARCASTIC REBUFF THAT " social realities of theft, lies and other criminality exist so we must also learn to normalize and accept them too." Ted Scott was in a high position in the Anglican Church but this is all from memory and I recall the glee of my first boss, a Salvation Army officer who was pleased with my attacks on what turned out to be a sick society that had denied all its beliefs with religions parotting the pathetic pedantry and destruction of a nation made worse by successive LIEBERAL governments.

That had to be almost sixty years until Pee ERRor turdo the father of the bastard child Justin grew to be elected over the last ten years wrecking what I now call CANCUCKistan. Everything has gone to hell and abortion made way to the MAID programs that now euthanize people by the tens of thousands and are depressed, or infirm, or homeless, etc.

So here we are in 2026 witnessing the facism of the LPC now under "Carnage" the OWO slime minister dragging the nation down to the filth of the gutters, Weed, vapes, alcohol and illegal drugs that destroy the youth of the nation are now common in cities.

"What is to be will be, what ain't to be might just happen and has. I have already stated over the last three years now that all ministers I known and meet as I ply my profession believe we are in the end times as prophesied in the Holy Bible.

My own minister stated this three years ago from the pulpit. Not to be demoralising but the evil that flows like liquid manure has saturated Parliament and the stench of hypocrisy leading the parade wafts strong from all Canadian political parties except the Christian Heritage Party and the Conservative Party of CanCUCKistan.

The police are behaving as criminals and converting as time passes to a Gestapo like presence that now sees the bastards knocking on doors to warn the public from criticizing "Carnage." Actually the bastards in blue uniforms are not good enough to be called Gestapo while the LIEberal Party murders the unborn by abortion and the elderly by euthanasia.

Once more hell hath enlarged itself.

The quote at the end was so dead on. Change for the sake of change and enrichment of those instigating the change has been the modus operandi for too long.

Yes Roger Scruton was a real sage. You are lucky, John, to have studied with him. He left us way too soon. We could use his wise — and always good-humored — counsel now.

I was hoping this administration would have the same objective of Lord Salisbury, to enrich through peaceful trade and conserve our society and culture, but unfortunately it's not turning out that way. And I think this administration has also learned that whatever happens will be for the worse. It would appear this Iran war, that we just had to get into right now, is taking a turn for the worse even though we are declaring victory. While we have declared that we have decimated Iran's capabilities, they appear to be getting stronger and bolder in their actions. Now we are threatening to destroy their power infrastructure which will hurt a lot of innocent people. Not sure that will achieve the objective of Iranian people standing behind this US/Israel war and revolting against the regime. This war makes no sense other than this administration was blackmailed into supporting Israel in their quest for dominance in the region.

I hope you watch Tucker's most recent interview, with Jiang Xueqin. Blackmail is not the only possible explanation for Trump's decisions. He lists four, that is one of them. This guy is smart, very likeable (to me at least), and always worth hearing out. He does not self-censor in any way.

“Professor” Jiang I am told is an English teacher broadcasting from China and likely a CCP mouthpiece. Other than that… [see the YouTube channel of Josh Simmons a dissident tech bro who investigated the good professor also who widely shares his “insights” on AI]

I was "conservatively" hopeful, as you were. Getting out of the global business of NATO, WHO, etc. Conserving our independence from global entanglements and also saving our money and strength. But we just keep upsetting all around us, all the time. And we can't help but be in the middle of things!

Splendid isolation, war is a failure of diplomacy, etc. All misunderstood concepts. We live in an era (from 9/11/01 through the 2020’s) where government overreach both internal and external is the norm.

Lamentable to be sure. What kind of opposition to the destructive forces within could be effective, or even sane, when the foundations are destroyed and the pillars already crumbling? Are we not seeing a controlled demolition of Western Civ, and our own paradoxical war cry of Peace through Strength which has subdued the more reasonable voices, is, ironically, itself subdued in a bloody quagmire in the Middle East?

What are we to make of it all?

Sometimes, it only makes sense to withdraw from a system that has become larger than the sum of the people who created it. Or more to your point, maybe we are just not the same people as those who created the great bastions of principled freedom. Lamentable to be sure.

What a wonderfully true sentence..

A partnership between those who are living, those who are dead and those who are yet to be born. And I will add "reborn".

In your article about how early tribes survived, I felt you left out or did not add about the tribes who learned to co operate? I have always felt that much of " his" stories, dominated written word and vital information was erased or left out about the matrilineal tribes.

A country relying on its own unique cache of resources, reminded me of why our gas prices should have never gone up when Trump, under Israel's directive, bombed Iran. We have plenty of gas, in this country. And we have been shipping it out for years. The gall of the oil and gas companies is disgusting. Instead of cutting their heads off as in the French Revolution, we should round these bad actors up and dip their heads in buckets of oil.

I agree with Lord Salisbury about change. I wonder if he would agree with me that all that our wise men, politicians, doctors, lawyers, policy keepers, and manipulators do and try to do is nothing in the eyes of God. They constantly try to dare God to send His son Jesus to the battlefield but in God’s eyes all that they do, all that they and all that they say and think are nothing and He doesn’t give them a second thought. I can hear Him laughing out loud even now!

We havecto oray for our leaders. The bible is ckear on that and also on nations! As a "mam of science" I used to sigh at the mention of religion or God. I had the views and that were slowly put in my head by subliminal messaging from our schools and media. I took the middle ground as "beleiving in a higher power" with the ingrained opinions that nobody could know and with so many religions how could someone say they are right? Until one day only a few years ago that changed. The Lord became undeniable and the fine tuned propaganda from the enemy became crystal clear! My eyes opened to the grift and I found out what it means to not only "find God" but also receive God in real time. That's what we could pray yor our leaders. Prayers are %100 met when you pray with faith and God really shows himself in incredible, undeniable ways once you ask him to. Whether our leaders reveive is up to them...My personal testimony isn't just something I could tell but also show text of many interventions since we have so many conversations recorded in text these days. God revealing himself by literal messages being slipped under doors in hospital rooms that quote passages that highlight the context of the conversation we just had!

We're on a spiritual battlefield fighting for our eternal existence in a world that is filled with temptation and dark forces that want us to deny reality so we become detached from God forever. I hope everyone gets to experience God in their life! The Lord has given us a map, a set of rules, tools to fight and promises that he always keeps. The rest is up to us! He doesn't NEED us. He loves us, but doesn't need us, nor will he forces us to be in his presence for eternity if we deny him. Would you let a stranger into your house? Neither will he. I used to think people had to take leaps for faith but I now understand that the Lord has given us plenty to base our faith on with every question able to be logically and even "scientifically" rationalized for anyone who asks. Many people think evil sins are the cause for being separated from God and good deeds will get them into his presence when our "physical lifetime" expires. That's not the case. We enter through faith and grace! I hope people wake up to the sins that "don't seem as bad" like Pride and Humility" because I see these as the biggest huddle for myself and most people! The "bad sins" are easier for most people to avoid these days since virtue signalling and image are so popular! The battle is to not exchange sin for sin! All we could do is use the tools we were given and redeem his promises and he will hold up a standard for us and give us what we need!
