I read a very good book years ago “Death by Gun Control” that had very good stats on all the countries in the world that are dictatorships now but started out as democracies. One of the authors is Jewish. He uses the argument if the Jews had guns during WW2 the Holocaust wouldn’t have happened. There are several fallacies in his argument I don’t agree with however the general premise I think is correct.

As the medical industrial complex has lost all credibility with many of us, and we know from past occurrences that thiese practices are harmful, sadly we can guess the answer is not a good one.
I can tell you a little about it, because the medical industrial complex is now preferring to give heavy duty psych drugs instead of traditional pain medication even for spinal injuries and muscle-ligament damage, which are not nerve biochemistry overactivity. So there is no psych problem to fix, and the prescribers are not trained in that field anyway.
I was given one medication that was like being given a crazy brain, just dropped into my head. Cognitive skipping and reversal in time, emotional lability, deep detachment and disinterest in life... And that was on day 2, a very small dose compared to the target dose. Obviously I stopped the medication. It also messed with my sex hormones. How much of the psych effects were downstream from the sex hormone alterations, that I don't know. My point is really that a medication can have a dramatic effect.
Patients often get the impression they are supposed to tough it out through any rough patches. The prescribers don't seem to consider scheduling a touch base for side effects, and if they are not trained to know what side effects to look for, they will not even alert the patient.
The prescribers, who might be MDs but could be NPs or PAs, and in a public health setting they may be working under a mediocre MD, all know that medications come with side effects, but don't seem to have a response for that. At this point in the evolution of medicine-by-pill, they seem to have accepted that tradeoff of cognitive, emotional, and hormonal side effects, in advance of knowing what they will be for a given patient. There doesn't seem to be any concept of tailoring a regime to a patient. I met one MD who does do that, so I know my reference point in saying that.
A number of practitioners are not practicing medicine. They are doling out menu options designed it seems by pharma sales reps and by public health agencies who seem to simultaneously over- and under- respond to any situation they happen to model. Occasionally, they may be dispensing the fixed menu preferred by their clinic; I'm speaking of the "pain management" backwater, but I suspect it's the same concept for "gender clinics". The problem is that almost none of them have minds capable of creative evaluation of published research, and so they just half-ass the task then return to their half-awake standby status.

As the medical industrial complex has lost all credibility with many of us, and we know from past occurrences that thiese practices are harmful, sadly we can guess the answer is not a good one.
I can tell you a little about it, because the medical industrial complex is now preferring to give heavy duty psych drugs instead of traditional pain medication even for spinal injuries and muscle-ligament damage, which are not nerve biochemistry overactivity. So there is no psych problem to fix, and the prescribers are not trained in that field anyway.
I was given one medication that was like being given a crazy brain, just dropped into my head. Cognitive skipping and reversal in time, emotional lability, deep detachment and disinterest in life... And that was on day 2, a very small dose compared to the target dose. Obviously I stopped the medication. It also messed with my sex hormones. How much of the psych effects were downstream from the sex hormone alterations, that I don't know. My point is really that a medication can have a dramatic effect.
Patients often get the impression they are supposed to tough it out through any rough patches. The prescribers don't seem to consider scheduling a touch base for side effects, and if they are not trained to know what side effects to look for, they will not even alert the patient.
The prescribers, who might be MDs but could be NPs or PAs, and in a public health setting they may be working under a mediocre MD, all know that medications come with side effects, but don't seem to have a response for that. At this point in the evolution of medicine-by-pill, they seem to have accepted that tradeoff of cognitive, emotional, and hormonal side effects, in advance of knowing what they will be for a given patient. There doesn't seem to be any concept of tailoring a regime to a patient. I met one MD who does do that, so I know my reference point in saying that.
A number of practitioners are not practicing medicine. They are doling out menu options designed it seems by pharma sales reps and by public health agencies who seem to simultaneously over- and under- respond to any situation they happen to model. Occasionally, they may be dispensing the fixed menu preferred by their clinic; I'm speaking of the "pain management" backwater, but I suspect it's the same concept for "gender clinics". The problem is that almost none of them have minds capable of creative evaluation of published research, and so they just half-ass the task then return to their half-awake standby status.
