I was explaining to my wife about the enormous needs of data racks to capture all of mankind's daily creations of cat videos and oatmeal recipes and, surely some of the data centers will be bought up on the cheap by the government when AI itself flops. There are going to be some issues with that approach, however.
First, data centers for storing data do not require enormous amounts of power. Sure, they require power, but not like AI servers do. One server rack requires 15 kW or more just to run. That doesn't include the power to cool it, transmit the data or all the other parts that AI requires.
Second, government data sitting in an un-hardened "here is the location of your overlord's property" bunker is not likely to survive for very long.

In this case -- and I've talked to a few friends who have had similar experiences -- the term "AI" is obviously an abbreviation of "Artificial Incompetence."
I should have clarified at the outset: I find AI as used by most large concerns utterly incompetent. I assume "phone trees" are a segment of AI. They are almost uniformly awful time wasters.
I use ChatGPT. It is by no means perfect. But I just wrote an article for my client letter that would have likely taken ten hours to research (a topic I'm a bit weak on, 529 plans), write, and rewrite again (average number of edits for articles: nine). Chat cut that down to two hours.
