I don't come here just for Mr Leake's excellent writing. I come for comments like this. Brilliant. Still chuckling.

As a new grad student in biostatistics, my class was watching my professor calculating the important characteristics, called moments, of the normal distribution. When he got to the kurtosis (a measure of how peaked or flat the curve is) we would not have been surprised by answers such as e, pi or the square root of 2 but in fact the answer turned out to be 3. The whole class started laughing at the absurdity of it being such a simple number.

I can therefore empathize with not being able to get one's head around 1 / 137. 137 being a prime number, to add insult to injury!!

God knows all things, and gives us intuition and the ability to apprehend a precept, yet all good things come from God, as we can observe. We cannot know His mind, but He gives us instruction all the time, and yet we often cannot perceive the presence of God, or hear His voice. I have been practicing listening for that wee, small voice God uses, for a number of years, and the better I get at hearing it, the more miracles and answered prayer I see, daily. Perhaps Wolfgang Pauli had indeed been receiving messages from God, yet could not define what the messages were. Mandelbrot set numbers are intensely interesting, and I believe demonstrate that God created all things, many of which are fractal in appearance, or in the Golden Ratio. I've not heard of the significance of the number 137 before today... but I will make a note of watching for it. Perhaps it is a number of the address in the City of God Pauli was destined for. 137 New Jerusalem. He'll know it's home when he sees it. Praise God. Jesus saves 137 people with a simple smile and a nod. Over and over, till it is finished.

1958, pancreatic cancer at 58, placed and died in room 137 designating his nemesis, died at age 60?

There are no coincidence’s.

By 1958 the world of scientific research and development had both been captured and were relied upon for their naive of academic “blinker’s” of relative perception in the fields of academic and medical science, the S.T.E.M.’s, colluding with the darkest corners of military insanity.

Not to say that none of those medical professional and academic scientists themselves were without their own pathologically dystopian deformities.

But of course the media has long since given academic and medical science their own little safe space cutouts as purity, hierarchy, never to be questioned, like the media itself, or else, so we do as told.

There was a reason, like everything else your grandparents tried to tell you about why they called psychiatrists and doctors shrinks and quacks.

And why they/them who control global information since those great wars and before are still trying to expunge the elderly and history by rewriting both.

Shrink the population on both ends.

John, this made me really chuckle. You wrote:

When presented with a bad theory, he was fond of saying that “it’s not even wrong”—that it, it’s too vague to be tested. I often think of this joke when I hear people talking about human-induced climate change.

It's worthy of a gold medal!! 🏅
